Good stuff to learn! That is why I states “in” “seems” better to me as it fits what we believe and we “do” according to what we believe.

James N., Forgiven! If we do not fit the belief system of Antichrist, we won’t be able to buy or sell. Kind of like “No shoes, no shirt, no service.” I learned “Find/Seek the literal sense unless it makes no sense or all becomes nonsense.” And I agree with you that Revelation interprets itself in some passages such as Rev. 1:20 and 4:5, too many others to list, but in a few we need to study the whole council of God. And no offence to you, but I believe we will be judged according to faith, not a work such as taking or not taking a micro chip.

I was attempting to explain why “in” seems to make sense to me.

Rev. 1:1 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to past; and sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:”

    Oh, I do type slow!
    Take care all.
</font>[/QUOTE]I do not believe it is a sin to implant a microchip in your body. However, I do see that this particular mark will come with a price. Worshipping the image of the beast. So any who take this mark are basically guilty of worshipping the beast. There will not be any question I think as to what you are doing when you take this mark. Now the deception may involve some people's fears being asuaged by the fact that this microchip is 'in', not 'on' like your bible says. Who can say? All I know is I don't want to be here to find out.

Amen to that! I believe the sure promises that all that are the Lord's won't!

I John 2:18 "...even now are there many antichrist;"

They "think/believe" and "do" as Antichrist.
As you said, it's not the chip, it's the heart!
    Take care.

Why the KJB of course. [IMG]

I don't believe that it will be on your body because it would be too easy to take off. In the body is a better reading.

BTW, Deborah, in another topic you mentioned how the HCSB is better than the KJB in that the reading is much easier. Question, when reading the KJB, did you use a dictionary, commentaries, and maybe other material to help you understand? As ou can see here, the two versions say differently. I feel sorry for those who only read the HLCB and not knowing that this "On" should be "in."

    God bless,

I first read my Life Application KJV Study Bible (I read the verses then the study notes), and then I follow it with the HCSB and it all becomes crystal clear. I also use e-sword with commentaries for even more explaination.

    Deborah

About as sorry as I feel for those who read only the KJV and don’t see that “in” should be “on” as *every* existing Greek manuscript and printed TR edition underlying the KJV happens to read.

Perhaps some of the more vocal KJVO advocates should take a hint from their sacrosanct Webster 1828 dictionary:

“In, in many cases, is equivalent to on. This use of the word is frequent in the Scriptures; as, let fowls multiply in the earth. This use is more frequent in England than in America. We generally use on, in all similar phrases.”

Ok people, again, use common sense here. Fowls cannot be multiplied inside the Earth, so of course it would be one the Earth. When they talk about the mark of the beast, I believe it is "IN" the skin and not on it, why, because it would be alot easier to remove the mark on the skin than in the skin, agreed?

Point is, get saved before the tribulation and then you won't have to worry about it.

    God bless,

One small question that might or might not have been raised here. Do we or do we not have to know and accept it as the mark of the beast in order for it to be so?

If that is the case and this country is founded under God and this country follows God, how would it be the mark?

The beast is Nero Caesar. I don't have any idea what the mark of Nero Caesar was.

This country is not a christian country by any stretch of the imagination and believe in a "generic" God, not Jesus Christ. Please read what God has said about the true country of the believer:

    Matthew 6

    19. Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
    20. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
    21. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

    Phillipians 3

    17. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
    18. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
    19. Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
    20. For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
    21. Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Just because this country is for it, doesn't mean that it should be taken, or that it could not possibly be the mark of the beast.

Love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,

Just ask any hard-core Seventh-Day Adventist...they will tell you that going to church on Sunday is the mark of the Beast!

Their reasoning? Going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday (Sabbath) is a conscious decision. The consciousnes is in the frontal lobe of the brain. Hence, it is "in" our foreheads. And, since it was a decree from a Pope that made Sunday the day of worship instead of the Sabbath (never mind that Christains had met on Sunday ever since Christ arose), then the Pope must be the Beast...clear as mud...

    ================================================

Personally, I am not concerned as to what the mark will be, or who will arise as Antichist. I won't be here. As the book says, "He's gonna toot, and I'm gonna scoot!"

    In Christ,
    Trotter

IMO. "mark" is the operative word in these Revelation citations:

Karagma or charagma is the koine word which contemporary to the time in which it was written, is the stamp of imperial Rome upon documents (wax) and coins (the image of caesar).

It also has the usage of a "brand" both of animals and slaves (particularly run-aways) burned onto the flesh by the owner.

Considering the cryptic nature of Revelation and broad use of metaphors, figures of speech and similes, IMO one can not conclusively say that the "charagma" is visible to the physical eye but perhaps only to those who have the "eyes to see".

Presumably it speaks of those who are enslaved or in some kind of bondage to a man or men (the beast-or a collective called the beast-which may or may not be synonymous with antichristos).

    In my opinion of course.

Many of the things John saw in Revelation were beyond his 1st century knowledge, so he simply described what he saw according to that knowlwdge. For example, a great burning mountain falling from the sky perfectly describes what we know as a large meteor. And he couldn't possibly have imagined a computer chip.

But who's to say that even though this thing could be implanted under the skin that it wouldn't be visible? And who's to say that the beast won't employ some kinda unique device whose visible outline is distinct from any other?

I believe, based upon what the scriptures say, that it indeed will be both. They will worship the image of the beast, and be not only marked with that image, but it will be something "in" the skin, that will also be visible as to the image of the beast that many will worship. WE see images today, many people worship them, and give themselves a tattoo of it, in the skin, or have it painted on their cars, or labeled on their shirts. The implantable chip could be part of the mark, as it is being toted today as a marketing tool, that has big economic advantages, and we know that the mark has alot to do with the economy of the world along with the worship of the beast. I have seen alot of people today, with images of dragons on them, such as shirts and tattoos, and jewelry, and painted on cars, movies, etc. The scriptures do say " and they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast. I find this interesting, that what was once unheard of, and unacceptable, as dragons, that today, dragons are being viewed in a good light. This just seems to be an indication that more and more people will accept some sort of mark in the near future. Even proffessing christians have no problem and see no problem "tattooing" or "marking" their bodies.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.

love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,

Interesting, on page three and nobody has quoted
the REAL King James Version yet.

    Reuelation XIII.16 (KJV1611):

And he causeth all, both smal and
great, rich and poore, free and bond, +to
receiue a marke in their right hand, or
    in their foreheads;

    Sidenote: +Gr. to giue.

This translator sidenote shows that their
is a variation in the sources available
to the translators of the KJV: one ancient
source saying "to receiue a marke" another
ancient source saying "to giue a marke".
