Now's your chance to buy your Passion key ring, coffee mugs, or necklace!

Go to "The website of official licensed products for Mel Gibson’s movie The Passion of the Christ."

What about all of the evangelicals that are riding the coat tails of this catholic phenom, like small fish feeding of the scraps of the shark, or like barnacles on a ship? If someone is prostituting something, what are those who make money off of that action as an ancilliary bonus? Has anyone seen the Passion compilation albums by Christian artists, or teaching programs about the movie by the very same people who hosted an early showing of the movie for pastors at their assemblies and sang the praises about it's biblical and historical accuracy. If Jesus walked into the showing of this movie in a house of God, I believe that we would have a repeat of the clearing of the money changers incident.

Mel will be getting a portion of everything sold that has anything to dow ith the Passion. Looks like that $30M is going to get him 3 times as much. Everyone wants a part of the gospel $$, but not the Christ of the gospels.

    ImHo,
Only those who already have 'Christian' items (including the famous fish symbol on the car  ) will purchase these things.

Again, more of my opinion, some, though not all, expect these items to be their witness to a lost and dying world.

    Get this, now!

The SBC's VBS material is generally offered beginning in January or February of each year---you can buy T-Shirts and Polo's and stuff with the year's VBS theme's printed---the Polo's run in the neighborhood of 30 "smackers"----BUT----if you wait until AFTER VBS summer is over---you can buy them at discount in the Fall---this past fall I was able to buy a VBS Cotton button down shirt(nice)---regular $28.00----for a "whoppin'" $3.59!! They were on sale at the annual Mississippi Baptist Convention---LifeWay runs a booth there during each convention year!!

I'm gonna hold out to buy Passion "paraphanalia" unti----ooooohh, about the year 2010---I figure I can get a good coffee mug for cheeeeeeeeeap by then!!!

I was just sort of toying with the idea of trying to get a job by sending in some snappy little jingles or lead in lines for all this fan oriented marketing and souvenirs of the movie.

The various merchandise with the nail...a slogan could be: "Get Nailed with Him" Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

But I got kind of stuck on this one...wasn't sure how to get a snappy selling gimmick for this souvenir...

I suppose it could be a good witnessing tool too. Just a little stuck as to how to use it though.

Hey, why not go into the Jesus bobblehead business, too. There is a market for that sort of thing.

The Southern Baptist Convention's Lifeway publishing house and bookstores sell all sorts of materials, books, music and trinkets for profit.

Well no...I don't want to go into the business..that's already been done, with the merchandising of the saints and the merchandising of the agony of Jesus Christ. But since everything related to promoting the movie is considered to be a great evangelistic tool....I would imagine Jesus bobblehoods would be something more for pro-movie people to utilize...and the crucifix would fit right in...otherwise partiality and hypocrisy and doublemindedness could enter in.

Me, I just kind of like the Word of God to declare the truth. Guess I am just ranting though. And wasting more bandwidth. But if you want to promote Jesus bobbleheads, and that makes you feel better.... Carry on [IMG] [IMG]

According to one train of thought, shouldn't we use crucifixes on our walls?

Maybe one with a removable Jesus?

It would give us such an opportunity to tell why Jesus was there, wouldn't it?

Well,............the problem is...He isn't there, or on any cross. I serve a risen Savior who sits at the right hand of the Father. But that's just me being windy again. And wasting more bandwidth. sigh. Bad habits are hard to change. [IMG]

I think I may have come up with some terminology that will satisfy both sides of this debate and help both sides to clarify their perspective. Anything that occurs in the movie that is not biblical, and is also not from the mystical visions of Emmerich, Agreda, or st Bridgit, we will term as "artistic license". Anything that is not from biblical sources, and can be proven to be from the works of the RCC proclaimed mystics, who contradict each other, we will now term as "demonic lies-ence". What do you think?

    Lady Eagle,

I may have missed if you answered me earlier, but I was wondering about your Israeli flag, and if you have Jewish heritage, or if you just a Christian who supports Israel. Just wondering.
