There is another thread (http://www.baptistboard.com/threads/concealed-carry-classes.95329/) in the Pastoral Ministry Section about concealed carry classes. I am curious about something, but will ask it here so it does not get derailed.

For those of you who have CC Permits, how often do you practice your marksmanship? I do not mean draw, dry-fire, or other drills; but how often do you actually shoot?

At least 4 hours per week. Proper marksmanship is a perishable skill. Use it or lose it.

I guess it can be a perishable skill. That has not been my experience. If one is carrying we should practice regularly. We used a lot of drills and dry firing in boot camp. Have never messed with it since.

50 rounds per month for the carry piece is my goal.

I do about 200 per week. But I also do all my own reloads so it keeps the cost way down. :)

Excluding rimfires, I average about 200-300/week. Around 95% are pistol calibers.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate all your brethren's marksmanship abilities... As TC said use it or lose it... I used it in Vietnam with the Marines and lost it... For what it is worth I put on the whole armor of God and that being said if some nut case wants to blow me away so be it... For me to live is Christ and to die is gain... Now do I welcome death?... No!... But what waits on the other side my Lord and my loved ones that have gone on is very appealing... It is only by the grace of God that any of us see another day... To you brethren lock and load... Brother Glen
