Aw now...you wouldn't believe how deep some things get around here. I step in it all the time...sometimes I wear waders when I post.

oh...you mean the other kind of "deep."

So, JDf, you can't support your allegations so now you start denigrating the site and the people who post here. Isn't there a verse in the Bible about a plank in one's eye?

Maybe you're in the wrong forum. Check out the Theology forum for "deeper" stuff.

Ah yes, when all else fails...you know, this is what I don't get about the modding around here. This kind of comment is both insulting and belittling to everyone on this forum, but its okay.

You want to get deep, let's get deep man. I'll tell you though, there are some people around here that can probably out dive you and have seen the bottom of the deep pools of God's wisdom and discernment. You might be out of your depth.

So why don't you start a thread that has to with "deep" theology that isn't an attack against someone or talking about what you're against. Show us what you're for.

Yes, there is a verse about not judging someone else's sin, when you're in sin.

However, I don't know of a verse that says that I'm not entitled to my opinion.

I'm for sound doctrine and not attacking people who have a different opinion.

When the pot starts to call the kettle black it's time for the thread to end.

Honestly, the idea that the Trinity was separated at the cross is one I've heard before but not one I agree with. But that doesn't mean that mighty men of God haven't studied it and have taken either side of it - or that someone who does believe that the Trinity was separated are unGodly men.

JDF - What you should do with this information now, which is a common forum practice, since we strayed from the OP is to start a new thread in the proper room with this very topic. Start one where there can be a discussion about the Trinity and the cross. It would be a good discussion and way more productive than saying this board is shallow.

But you must be wrong because Max Lucado said it and if Max Lucado said it, it's the truth.

Oh, yeah, that's a good idea. Give you another thread to come and jump on me because you're so insecure that you can't handle anybody having a different opinion than you.

Did I ever say that Max Lucado is perfect? I don't recall saying that. NO one has a corner on the truth other than God. The rest of us? Not so much. EVERY theologian, EVERY pastor, EVERY Christian has some wrong ideas. I've never seen one that's perfect.

ROTFL - Paranoid much? Is it us who are shallow? I think not - it's just that you're afraid to jump in to test the waters to see just how deep they are.

Oh and me insecure? Ask anyone here - not really.

No - I am disagreeing with you that he speaks of a different God than the God of the Bible.

You deny that Max Lucado speaks of the God of all creation - and call Him a different "god". THAT is what I am disagreeing with.

Be very careful what you ascribe to someone other than God. Yes, He is mighty. Yes, He is just. Yes, He is righteous. But He is also loving, wants a relationship with us, humbled Himself for us. That is the same God we all worship. God is greater than words and descriptions of Him. But honestly, there are those who need to understand God's love and mercy over His justice for a time in their lives. My own mother grew up in the Catholic church and knew all about God's judgment and righteousness. It wasn't until she knew about His love for her and His mercy for her that she was able to fully understand God and open her heart to Him. Some need to hear about their sin and how it separates us from Him. Others know about their sin and always know about their separation from Him. They are the ones who need to hear of His love - a love so amazing that He left His throne to become a man to die for US. And that now He calls us to have a relationship with Him - not just do "religion". Max Lucado, in his strengths and weaknesses addresses these people. Others, such as Kirk Cameron tend to focus more on those who think they're good enough to get to heaven on their own. Neither one is wrong - they just point different people to God in different ways. Jesus Himself did the same thing so we know it's not wrong to address people's needs in different ways.
