I heard the McCain camp has released this on the Internet along with emails guiding their people.

You think it will get him the sympathy vote?

I sure hope so after all isn't Obama visiting his white grandmother whom he has thrown under the bus, for sympathy vote.

He has that... We all know he's a war hero and have seen the footage.

John Toppass, you really think Obama is visiting his gravely ill grandmother as a tactic to get sympathy?

Explain what you mean by "thrown under the bus."

Sympathy! No, it won't have that kind of impact on me. Per se, it isn't a deciding factor for the vote. What it is however is an example of courage, determination, hope, faith, and service which merits much respect and serves an example. If I'd been captured I pray I would have conducted myself as honorably as he did. The better question would be: Will it get him the honor vote?" But, even so, it stands alone for the honor it deserves and is not a reason in itself to vote for him or not. It does demostrate how he, as a person, could be expected to handle extreme adversity. From that perspective it does become a quality to be considered and a reason to vote for him.
