    This topic is for those who do listen to other forms of Christian music besides the hymnal. This is not written for arguing.

    I really like the band "MercyMe". They are Christian POP Rock. Has anyone else listened to them?

    I have Almost There, Spoken for, Worship Project, Traces of Rain Vol II CD"s. And I haven't heard anything bad yet.

    Well I can't believe no one has ever listened to them. One of their songs, that is very popular is "I Can Only Imagine".

    I've heard them. Don't own any of their albums, but the few songs that I have heard are beautifully written.

    I think they are an excellent group. I have their last two albums, and every time I hear "I Can Only Imagine" I get tears of joy, because I find myself imagining and realize it doesn't even come close to what it will be like one day! :D I don't think you can go wrong with them. I also like the song "Spoken For."

    Love their "almost there" cd. My family and I are involved in our Drama team at church and we do interpretive movements. And we only interp songs that point people to Jesus Christ! "I Can Only Imagine" was one of the songs that we did. And that's just it, we can only imagine.......Will I stand in your presence/Or to my knees will I fall......I can only imagine!

    Also like Michael W. Smith....his Worship cd!

    Sherrie, I have only heard one of their songs mroe then once, their style isn't exactly my favorite. However, that one song is I Can Only Imagine. [​IMG] Gorgeous, it sends goosebumps up and down my arms.

    That song was written after his dad died.

    He had a journal that he kept lyrics and poems in. After his dad died he wrote that. Some time later they were in the studio and he opened it up and saw those lyrics. The rest, as they say, is history.

    I saw MercyMe in Cocert, and they were very good. Not Ozzy or Manson good, but nonetheless worth seeing

    I like that song, but I hear it so much any more, I am about sic of it. I could only imagine. I also like that Send Me song on that album.

    Yes I have heard of them also. The song only Imagine" WOW When we enter those Golden Gates, what will be the first thing we do? He is an awesome Lord, to come to earth, live among us, die on the Cross, rise after 3 days, and now He helps us through our daily lives. WOW
    So when we do enter that City, what will the first thing you do?

    I also have heard the The Greenes sing the song. They are southern gospel.
