missionaries and the falling US dollar

    I know this subject came up not too long ago; a missionary was asking what to do about the lack of support due to the US dollar dropping value overseas. Just to let you know, the Baptist Bulletin, a GARBC publication, addressed this very topic in their latest issue. It has been brought to the attention of the GARBC Baptist churches and hopefully something can be done soon to help our missionaries. I don't know about other Baptist associations, but thankfully, more Christians are becoming aware of the situation.

    The Baptist Bible Fellowship has also taken steps to assist our missionaries that are affected by this problem- it is a three-pronged endeavor: 1) Specific prayer for God to intervene with a resolution to the problem, 2) an assistance fund has been created to help those with the most immediate needs, 3) information will be sent to all of the churches encouraging them to increase their monthly support rates for those affected.
