I totally messed this one up and I apologize that.
It was in the Proverbs thread and I tried to make a point by what I THOUGHT it said and I was wrong.
    Here is my post:

Then I looked up the passage again and realized it says this:

Just goes to show that you should never argue from memory.
It may come back to bite you.

Glad you admitted that slip-up. Now if you can only admit that the word 'will' in that verse does not mean 'might'.

I never claimed it did mean might.
Might would change the meaning of the proverb.

Read what BibleBoy posted in that thread. It is interesting.

At any rate, I should study the issue more before getting more dogmatic about it.

There are many Godly people writing about it and I need to make sure my understanding is correct.

I read it. Not in total agreement, but he does state it is a promise anyway just as I have been stating all along.

But then what of God's grace to those who grow up in non Christian homes?

It may surprise you to know that Jesus did not die just for the elect, but as the Word proclaims, He died for the ungodly.

This nonsense of Christ dying only for the elect is unScriptural.

God was not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

I am sure you deny this, but I had to proclaim the truth anyway.

That is a good question, however I believe that God is faithful to give His grace to any and all that will hear Him. It is up to us that have heard to be faithful to our calling to let those that have not been raised in a Christian home know about His Saving Grace.

My answer is that those who are saved are the result of grace, in spite of their upbringing.
Really this is the case for Christian or non chritian homes

What is a 'mistquote'? Is that a cross between a mistake and a quote?

That is what Gail the Ripper does. She "mystically" misquotes peoples sources.

LOL, I didn't even spell the title right :)

His life isn't over yet. Let's see how the story ends before we pass judgment on the Word...

Well, we certainly do not interpret the Bible based on our own experience but rather our experiences by the Bible.
