The Yankees and Braves for years have been the center of attention in Major League Baseball. What are ya'lls thoughts?!?

Jimmy, someone else asked a similar question last week and I'll stick with the same reply. The Yankees have bought the series already with their purchase of A-Rod.

I disagree, sister. Unless A-Rod can personally compensate for the loss of Pettite, Clemens, and Wells...

(said the Red Sox fan with a touch of sour grapes...) :(

Seriously, I still think it comes down to pitching. They didn't win it last year with a fairly loaded line up...

The Yanks will bash to the playoffs much like Boston did last year, but will fail, much like Boston did last year because right now they don't have the pitching. There are two teams to watch out for: Cubs and Angels. Both have strong ptiching, playoff experience and great managers (although Baker would better be described as good not great). Right now those are my picks Cubs and Angels

Yankee pitching is suspect, but they should still be light years ahead of anyone else. What other AL East team comes to mind?

Boston? Don't make me hurl.

Curt Schilling, Pedro Martinez, Derrick Lowe and the closer Keith Folke present a very formittable pitching staff for Boston. Now with Schilling pushing Pedro he could "return" to his former, less "hurt" self. Orioles have the potential to be the Marlins-like if the young arms hold up and Ponson plays like he has in the past. They made some key pickups with Javier Lopez, who was bound to learn a thing or two about pitching catching for the Braves all these years and Miguel Tejada as well. I would look for the Wild Card to come from the East this year.

My guess is that by June - the Yankees will get a couple of more pitchers - that will help them in their quest for the next title!

The Braves - don't appear to have restocked this season!
