modesty?

I think this is a great idea.

 

My dad shops with me. This is a good and bad thing. For example of bad: I have to have low rise, flare leg, short lenght. Do you know how hard it is to find the "right" pair of jeans?? Any way he gets tired and wants me to just buy the first ones I try on. So we usually end up in a small agrument. However, on the flip he holds me back for buying the low cut shirts or the skirt that is a little short.( every girl knows she she sees it she wants it and your parents drag you back.)
As far as how a girl should dress. I disagree in your chest hanging out or drawing attention to certian areas. I see nothing wrong with girl wearing something form fitting. Every girl wants to look her best. I believe that I do a pretty good job of dressing modestly and stylish.

 

Not too low cut and not too tight on the shirts. As for pants, not too tight and they keep the underwear in. Well, that last one goes for guys too! LOL

I also go shopping with my dad and I hate it because he thinks everything I like is ugly. I like to wear bright colors and he hates them and he tries to rush us. I feel that I know what I should wear and not wear.

My dad hates that I spend forever finding the perfect clothes, then I try them on and put 1/2 back. Then I have to shop some more. He doesn't understand that shopping is a process!

 

I know right he just does not get it. It is really hard to be a girl. I get up at 5 every morning to get dressed for school and my parents pick on me.

How many girls here feel that they can dress modest and still stylish?? I think a lot of times we try to say I have to wear long pants/skirts or turtle necks to be dressed modestly.

Mosdesty and style go hand in hand if you ask me... let me be honest with you being a guy I catch myself sometimes distracted with those who arent modest but when I actually notice a girl (who is modest) i remember her.

Just remember that dressing modest doesnt mean you have to look like you came out of a "Little House on the Prarie" book. I think

I have a younger brother and I know how hard it is for him not to look at all the little girls who are walking threw the mall half dressed. I try to make sure that my shirts are not to low cut and that my jeans are not too tight. I love to buy clothes but it is hard to find just the right thing.

When I first starting wearing dresses/skirts only some of the kids at school used to call me Laura Ingles, or Laura! LOL, I took it as a compliment, but after a few of thses posts I'm beginning to wonder!

If you have ever been to a Barlow girl concert you know that they really believe in modesty. They also try to teach girls it does not matter what society thinks you define your self by Gods standards and no one else’s. I think to many times we girls try to fit into societies little idea of what’s hot. Not every girl can be a size 2. But you are beautiful the way you are because God made you that way and that is who you are. I also believe that girls do not love themselves because if they really loved them selves we would not have all the problems we have to day. One day your prince will come and he will care about modesty. I say leave something to the imagination.

I will not agree with that. I dress modestly but yet I still attract the type of guys I would never date.
