    You are confused.The HCSB and ESV have a lot more "gender-inclusive" language than the NIV.



    The HCSB has "wooden" language?I haven't heard that before. It's language is rather clear and understandable for the most part. Now the ESV is a whole other ball of wax. Its language is full of awkward sentence structure, and inelegant,antiquated wording. In short, it uses tortured English to demonstrate its "essentially literal" style.The HCSB and ESV stand in stark contrast to one another as to how each uses the English language.




    I am very glad that you are enjoying the NLTse. That translation deserves praise.


    Yes, I'm keeping a lookout as well. It's going to join the ranks of the other mediating translations -- the NET Bible,HCSB, and my favorite -- the TNIV.

    I'd like to find a NET somewhere cheap. What I've read on my Palm pilot has been fairly good.
