More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says

Where do the numbers come from? The GAO report doesn't distinguish between aliens and illegal aliens nor does it say what percentage is in for what crime.

 

I'm not so sure I agree with these statistics. Like Daisy said, were are the links?

Murder and non-negligent homicide is around 16,692 in this country (1).

5451 was the number of murders in Arizona, Texas, & California(2). the 3 states that the GAO said accounted for 80% of illegal immigrant crime (3).

If your art icle was attributing 12% of the murders in those states to illegal immigrants, the the number should be a little higher than 654 (4). The total number of murders claimed then would be around 924.

Looking at the numbers provided, I would come to a maximum upper bound of 5.5% of the murders committed to have been committed by illegals.

I would also believe (having looked at the numbers for several years) that the amount of crime by illegals much greater than for the rest of the US population. However, the numbers seem to indicate that while illegals are much more likely to commit crimes, they are not much more likely to commit murder. I would have to spend much more time analyzing the data to come to a more detailed conclusion than that . . . and since so many of my posts (& the threads they are contained in) are disappearing right now - I would rather spend my time on something more lasting. I hope you will forgive me for the less than detailed analysis.

But, the actual number of murders committed by illegal immigrants did not seem to be as high as I would have anticipated.

It looked like your source might have been using the numbers for 'violent crime' committed by illegals and dividing that by the number of murders in this country to get their 12% . . .


You might want to trust a rattle snake more than that there snake oil salesman giving those numbers.

Doubtful that there are anywhere near enough evidence for impeachment, but certainly his lack of control, or policy, on the borders should be confronted by congress. This super highway thing is awful, as are the circumstances in the trial of the 2 border agents, which seems to be a policy tactic.

 

The president can only be impeached for violating a criminal code, not for stupidity.

 

Yeah, but hacks don't need the constitution to guide them - only their party leaders' talking points.
