Picked this off of Drudge. I think that this photo will return to haunt Boehner.

The GOP gave themselves over to obstructionism and in-fighting. They had opportunity to stymie some of the Democrat-launched projects by tightening the purse strings. They could have passed a short term continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government only through January, allowing the GOP-controlled House and Senate to be firmly installed. Instead, the Republicans caved to Democrat pressure and presented a CR that covered all of fiscal year 2015. Fully funding FY2015 means that the new GOP House and Senate can do nothing to reverse funding to Democrat projects until the end of the FY, which I believe is October.

And now, the GOP leadership, which has been questionable at best, has been re-elected by the House. The Good-ole-boy network continues to reign supreme in the GOP, as noted by the fact that those who opposed Boehner, seemingly acting in the best interest of the nation, are now being removed from committee positions as punishment for standing against the Speaker. It's petty politics at best, and every day it proves more and more jsut how out of touch Washington DC is with America as a whole.

    Excellent analysis, as usual.

I would add that they funded Homeland Security's immigration department only through February 6th(?), because they wanted to delay Obama's implementation of his illegal immigrant amnesty program by not funding it. However, I predict they will cave on this as well and somehow try to spin it as a victory.

    BOEHNER PROFITS FROM OBAMACARE STOCKS

NEW YORK – Since the passage of Obamacare, House Speaker John Boehner has been dogged by critics pointing out his investment portfolio has benefited from owning insurance and medical company stocks that have profited from the legislation.

An analysis of Boehner’s current investment holdings includes a number of stocks benefiting from Obamacare in a total portfolio estimated at between $3.5 and $5 million in current market value.
