I have a question for you. I had asked, "So my question is, all things work together for good to those that love God, but good cannot come from evil. Could you please explain your take on these issues."

    S&T:

I think it is quite simple in reference to this movie. Mel created a Catholic witnessing tool at the expense of evangelical Christians, some of them even Baptists. God is sovereign, therefore He can take what was meant to for harm, and in spite of it's major corruption [mysticism, idol worship, etc] He can still do [I know it is hard to believe] what He needs to for those who love Him.Does that make the movie good? Does it make this the greatest evangelization tool of the last 2000 years? Hardly....does it make a witnessing tool that Christians should get googly eyed over and send their unsaved and saved friends to see. Not really. Should we listen to the soundtrack with songs that were inspired after the writer prayed to Mary and the music and lyrics popped into his head? Do I even have to answer that? If anyone gets saved, it is because it is God's will, and has nothing to do with this "another Jesus" film that appears to have the Christian world hypnotized.

My pleasure. I figured after the barrage of links and facts that you put up, many of the supporters would be "truth shocked" and speechless, so I had better do it.

SOUTHERN BAPTIST LEADERS GIVING 100% ENDORSEMENT TO GIBSON'S MOVIE.
Friday Church News Notes, April 9, 2004 (David W. Cloud, Fundamental
Baptist Information Service, P.O. Box 610368, Port Huron, MI 48061,
    [email protected], http://www.wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Freddie
Gage, an influential Southern Baptist evangelist, has given a total
endorsement of Mel Gibson's movie The Passion of the Christ. He says,
"I recommend it 100 percent" ("Thank God for Mel Gibson," Baptist
Press, March 25, 2004). He praises Mel Gibson as an evangelist and
says, "Anyone who has a problem with the last 30 minutes of this
movie is out of touch with the Holy Spirit." That is a presumptuous
statement and just plain nutty, to boot. This Baptist evangelist is
pretending that there is no problem with depicting Jesus as gaining
strength from Mary as he proceeds to the cross, or with "saint
Veronica" receiving a miraculous blessing from Jesus, or with Mary
desiring to die with Jesus and literally drinking his blood, or with
the depiction of a naked Jesus walking from the tomb. Gage says,
"Thank God for Mel Gibson and thank God for bringing back the blood
of Jesus through Mel Gibson." Does he really thank God for a man who
prays to Mary and believes that salvation is only through the Roman
Catholic Church, who believes that the cup of the mass is the literal
blood of Christ? Where is spiritual discernment? Where are the
watchmen on the walls? The hour is very late, my friends, are you
ready to meet the Lord? The Bible warns that if I as much as bid "God
speed" to one who abides not in the doctrine of Christ, I lose my
reward and become a partaker of his evil deeds (2 John 8-11). I pray
that Mel Gibson will get saved, but at this point in time he most
definitely abides not in the doctrine of Christ. His "Jesus" needs
Mary's assistance; his Jesus is a wafer blessed by a Catholic priest.
The Passion of the Christ has taken in nearly a half billion dollars
    so far.

    Gage said that???

Let me tell you what Catholic priests believe about the SBC preachers---this is a true story that happened to me---take it as you will

A young fella started visiting our church some time ago---late teens--early 20's--started coming on a regualar basis!

I had opportunity to get to know him---comes from a Catholic background! Anyway--

One particular Sunday during invitation time this young fella walked down the isle---wanting to "redidicate" his life---so I asked him like I ask every person who walks down the isle---from the Chairman of Deacons on down---

"Man! Are you born-again?? Are you saved??"

    "Preacher! I don't know!!"

"Well, man! You can know right now! You can repent of your sins and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior right here--right now!"

"Let me think about it some!"

"Well, OK---but I'll be in touch!"

About two weeks pass by and I see this boy---turns out that word got out to the Catholic priest in town that he was going "over to that Baptist church" and that he wanted to be "born again!"

You know what that priest told him??

"If you go back to that Baptist church and get born again---your family will go to Hell!"

    Needless to say . . .!

While christian missionaries are dying for their faith christians in America are being entertained by going to unscriptural movies about the Lord Jesus Christ our precious Savior.

Good point At His Feet. Except that the movie is also world wide, and atheists and Muslims are even being entertained by it, adn they don't view it as the presentation of the Gospel. [IMG] Just a gory movie, about someone named Jesus who got killed.

While Christians are being persecuted all around the globe, watching their children and loved ones being murdered in front of their eyes, butchered, raped, stuck in tires & doused with gasoline and set on fire, Christians in America are being entertained by arguing and bashing each other over a movie about the Lord Jesus Christ our precious Savior.

LE, out of curiosity, I was wondering how long you have been a member posting to this debate forum, and specifically commenting and promoting the Passion movie?

As far as being entertained by this debate forum, and standing for the Biblical Jesus Christ....no entertainment involved. Just total focus and committment to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who is not in that perversion of Scripture, called Mel Gibsons' The Passion of the Christ aka called a movie.

No entertainment value to me whatsoever.

I am sure if they knew that Americans were enamored by a movie that portrayed the One they are dying for that makes Him out to be afraid of dying and needing strength from His "Mother and Queen of Heaven", they would be convinced that America has been turned over to satan until she comes to her senses, repents, and falls on her knees before God Almighty.

    S&T:

You must have seen a different version than I did. The "Jesus" in this movie was a poor mystical facsimile of the Jesus of the Gospels,

Earnestly contending for the faith is not entertainment for me. It is not even a job....it's an adventure....an adventure into the "living" Truth of God's Word.

For those of you who are wondering why I used a phrase spoken by Madonna at the awards, it is a simple association.

    1) Her name is Madonna, and this movie co- features the "Madonna".

    2) She used to crawl around on the stage wearing a crucifix, which many would consider blasphemy, and I consider this movie in a similar fashion.

    3) Madonna gets her secret "information" from Hebrew mysticism known as kabbalah, Mel gets his from catholic mystics.

    4) Madonna dances around in videos wearing a tattoo of the Sacred Name of God [YHVH] in Hebrew letters on her shoulder to show a form of godliness. This movie has the title of Christ in it's title to show it's form of godliness.

    P.S.

Mel and Demi Moore are on this month's cover of People magazine. There is an article in it that talks about Hollywood's "spirituality". Demi is a kabbalist.

    Ezekiel 33
1 ¶ And the Word of the LORD came to me, saying,
    2 Son of man, speak to the sons of your people, and say to them: When I bring the sword on it, on a land, and take one man from the people of the land, of their borders, and set him for their watchman;
3 if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blows the trumpet and warns the people,
4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword does come and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head.
5 He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning. His blood shall be on himself. But he who takes warning shall deliver his soul.
6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming, and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned; if the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity. But I will require his blood at the watchman's hand.
7 And you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore you shall hear the Word from My mouth, and warn them from Me.
8 When I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die; if you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked one shall die in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at your hand.
9 But, if you warn the wicked of his way, to turn from it; if he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.
