Does your church have a tract ministry? For some reason the person in charge of the tract ministry is not going to use any tracts produced by Living Waters or Tract Planet. I do not like it but since I am WOTM Preferred and not Only I can and do use other tracts. This thread however is to collect ideas for tracts to present to the person in charge.

Do you have any tracts that you can recommend?

I think we have some tracts in the bookstore but a "tract ministry"???? Umm - no. We actually go to people and talk to them.

One cant possibly talk to the thousands of people that roam state fairs, and other such public events.

Yes. God is so foolish to tell Christians to do it His way instead of your way.

The Great Commission occurs in four places in the New Testament.

Matthew 28:19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you.

Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation."

Luke 24:47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

John 20:21 Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

And in every case, the method is given as preaching. 2 Timothy 4:2 "preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching."

A tract is not Gospel preaching. A tract is a synopsis of Gospel preaching.

Real, bible, Gospel preaching includes all of the Great Commission, win them, baptize them, teach them all they need to know to go forth and do the same.

Anything less is not Gospel preaching.

Yes and no. We go to festivals, fairs, etc. When there, we talk to people and hand out invitations to our church. The invitations have contact info, web link, facebook, service times, etc.

Thats one way of doing it. However a good gospel tract can also be stamped with contact info. I think this is probably a valid reason why my church is avoiding tracts produced by Living Waters and Tract Planet since most lack a place to put in contact info.

Does your church do booths at fairs? Thats also another way to get the gospel out and a valid way.

One cannot open air preach at a fair or public event without running the risk of being thrown out and having the cops called. Therefore among the multitude that attend such events a gospel tract is oftentimes about all that can be preached to the lost. However if one attends a church that has a booth that would be the better way to preach the gospel, provided thats what you do.

But since my church to date does not participate in public events in the city I have no option of sitting in a booth, so therefore I stock up on tracts and pass them out. Passed out 500 of them at the last event here.

So what did Paul do? Hand out tracts? Jesus? Maybe the apostles?

Yes you have an option - rent a booth yourself.

We do not have a formal tract ministry, but do have local outreach and witnessing!

We are asked to share the gospel with those God puts in our path. We are asked to have faith and be faithful to God's Word. We are asked to communicate to others the gospel and disciple them. We are asked to function within the ministry of a local church so that our work is complete.

We were never asked to go it on our own and try to reach as many people as possible.

And how many of the 500 people were saved, baptized, and taught to "observe all things Christ commanded them?"

So, how much have you spent on all those tracts all these years? Enough to rent a booth? Or aren't souls worth enough to spend your money wisely?

Wrong again. God's command is to go two by two. Mark 6:7 "He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two."

Mar 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation.

And "them" is plural. Not singular. And so is "Go." Plural. Not alone. Two by two with other church members.

Allot? To give or apportion (something) to someone as a share or task? Huh?

Maybe next time the church will get involved in the major event in the city and rent a booth.
