Who is your favorite Gospel Group and what are your favorite Gospel Songs.
The best Gospel Group I know of is Lee and Cindy Condran of PA. This husband and wife team has been singing for many years. I have been blessed by their music, as well as knowing them personaly.
I was just recently married and we used their song "I believe in the power of Love" in our wedding.
Their other songs I like are :
Sweep our sins (under the carpet)
    Patchwork quilt
    Eternal Friends
    Twinkling of an Eye
Thanks for the blessings you Bring

I trust they will be soon be returing to Upstate NY. I sure need a recharge!!

Spencer Bohren from New Orleans. His cd Carry the Word is a compilation of songs from his ifb upbringing, but done in the style of 1920's white Gospel.

A Casper native, his blues are amazing and powerful. He is the number one blues singer in France and Sweden, but not well known in the USA.

Just came back from dinner with him and his wife, along with the editor of the Casper Journal and her husband. Ten of us enjoying the evening of the 4th together.

Spencer pulled out the guitar and we enjoyed singing some songs of Americana. What a blast!

Sounds like a wonderfully sensual night!

Would not have used the word "sensual" like that as we conjur visions of some orgy or such!!

But it's funny that he is drifting (slowly) back toward his roots. Typical teen rebel into rock et al, left Baptist for Buddhist.

Now he's a grandfather (age 53) and reality of life is setting in. Fun to see us "Boomers" starting to look back with nostalgia at those legalistic Baptists that drove many away from church for decades.

We still pray for his soul. He won free trips to Bible camp for memorizing the most scriptures as a 10-12 year old. And the Word is still there, being used by the Spirit . . .

Of Southern Gospel groups, I would pick Gold City, though I'm hardly a connieseur (sp?) of Southern Gospel. I'd be curious as to Mike McK's favorite Southern Gospel group.

    Hmmm...

I listened to a lot of it as a kid but then quit for twenty years or so. I wouldn't even know half the groups who are out there now.

I like the Florida Boys, Gold City, Lengends 5, etc. I think I like Southern Gospel more than any one group.

I like Squire Parsons a lot and I sang his song "Oh, What a Moment" at a lot of funerals.
