My little helper today ....

4th graders like to help the teacher by passing out papers, erasing the board, and a whole host of things.


This morning I was stapling a unit test together as class was starting. I handed a bunch that I had already stapled to a young man and asked him to count and see how many I had already stapled so I could know how many more I had to go. I have 80 students and only wanted to staple about a third of them and then get started with 1st period.


He was so excited and took the papers to his desk and meticulously moved the papers from one stack to another one at a time.


When he finished he proudly scooped them up and brought them to me and said, "Here you go."


I said, "Thanks, how many have I stapled so far?"


He said,...............


(wait for it .....)







...................."You've stapled every single one of them!"
