Today, I withdrew my 1st grade son from the public school system and put him in private school. He has high functioning autism and absolutely loves Jesus so much that he gets upset when it is not his turn to pray at dinner time. His favorite book is his children's Bible and he insists on reading it every day. All this, of course, before public school.

Over the last few months I began to notice that he wasn't as insistent on prayer and did not want to read bible stories. Finally, at dinner time, he told me that he didn't want to pray. So I asked him why, the answer shocked me.

It started around Christmas time when all the kids in class were talking about Santa and Frosty the Snowman. My son told his friends that Christmas was about Jesus and began to share the Gospel. As a result, he was punished by the administrators and he was told that he was being offensive.

Eventually, the other kids in the class started picking on him because he shared Bible stories. When we talked to the school they told us, "Well, if he would just stop talking about Jesus so much then the kids will stop picking on him."

I am absolutely furious that this has happened. So I immediately withdrew him from the public school system and enrolled him into a Christian private school. My question is, "Has anyone else had similar issues with the public school system attacking your child's faith?" If so, how did you handle it?

Yes we have. My son oldest had to be pulled from school due to the constant mocking by other kids. I placed him in a Baptist school for a year and we now homeschool him. My five year old has never attended public school, he did one year in private school and is now homeschooled as well.

You have my prayers. Also, if you want your child to be a Christian keep them close to you.

I think you should contact ACLJ or a similar organization.

That thought has crossed my mind. It is so sad that Muslim students are able to worship whenever and wherever they want because we need to be "tolerant" and Christians are told to keep their faith to themselves to avoid being "offensive".

The biggest thing that concerns me is the fact that my son was being picked on by many of the other children. It leads me to wonder what they are being taught at home.

Without going into detail, it was a California public school.

Here is a resource for you: First Liberty

It provides you with your rights. It turns out that schools don't understand their rights either. They just want to avoid conflict. The FFRF has engaged in a kind of extortion by threatening school districts. The districts don't want to get involved in litigation because it's very expensive. The result is that the FFRF wins by default.

I would never place a child in public schools. Most are in an impossible situation. An example would be a child who is being raised by Satanist talking about Satan all the time.

There is no doubt that the world is becoming more hostile to Christians.

I'll pray for you. God bless you and your family.

Houston Independent School District had an Islamic Public School, that's what the old sign said. They took some heat for it so they changed the signs to say Arabic Immersion Magnet School. They claim they are just for kids to learn Arabic, it's an out right lie. It's an elaborate cover for a Muslim religious school.

Here in Texas, it is allowed to discuss the Bible as a book of literature, sing songs of thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter as cultural lessons (if other cultural songs are also presented) and to allow students to pray at will without teacher/staff interference.

At time some stupid letter will be given to the school authorities from some opposition, but such are either ignored, or pointed to state law and policies that allow such to continue.

There is never a time or place for anyone to ridicule or even debate the merits of one religion over another. All are held with equal value.

Certainly, as a believer, I lament the standard that has to allow for equal treatment, but I figure that the Word is more effective then any other word.

Unfortunately, I can perceive the day when such tolerance will not extend to Christians, but until then ...

I wonder is the liberals ever look at the last verse of our national anthem?

All previous verses end in a question.

Not the last verse. It is a declaration of principle.

One of the major problems with the Islamic faith, is that it is more than a religion, the same as Roman Catholicism. They are a state/religious mixture, an amalgamated hybrid, which by nature, is contrary to the Constitution of the united States and even the first amendment.

For instance, an Islamicist [a Muslim], may say that they are praying, but their 'as-salat', actually seek after Islamic "peace" or submission of the whole world to Sharia/Islamic law, at the call of the 'adhan':

This is done 5 specific times [involved with the phases of the moon, etc] a day:

    Fajr

    Dhuhr

    'Asr

    Maghrib

    'Isha
Always in Arabic [many of whome have no idea what they are saying in Arabic [sound familiar???]]

the Takbir - "Allahu Akbar" [Allah is greater ...]

Qiyaam [the first chapter of a qur'an is read ...]

al Fatiha 1:7 (al-Hilali-Khan translation) - " ... The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace [4], not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger [5] (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). [1],[2],[3]. ..."
    Thus:

al Tawbah or Bara'ah 9:29 (al-Hilali-Khan translation) - "... Fight those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. ...”

al Bayyinah 98:6 (al-Hilali-Khan translation) - “... Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur'an and Prophet Muhammad) from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures. ...”

    * notation in al-Hilali-Khan on al Bayyinah 98:6, where it begins, “It is obligatory to have Belief in the Messengership of the Prophet (Muhammad). ...” -

“... Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah's Messenger said: “By Him (Allah) in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, there is none from amongst the Jews and Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) but he will be from the dwellers on the (Hell) Fire. (Sahih Muslim, the Book of Faith, Vol. 1, Chapter No. 240). See also (V.3:85) and (V.3:116) ...”
Thus, in every Islamicist prayer, in every day, whether they actually know it or not [some are ignorant] they are praying for the overthrow of liberty of conscience in regards religion [worship] and state [governance] - in verity, the very overthrow of the Constitution itself, for Sharia [Islamic constitutional law].
Ruku [bowing to Mecca, the black stone within the Yoni of the Ka'baa

    Second qiyaam

    Sujud

    Tashahhud

    Sujud [repeated]

    Tashahhud [repeated]
