Perhaps, we should wait to hear both sides before casting judgment, or even, gasp...maybe it is none of our business whatsoever.

    Joseph,
Do you believe it is none of our business? Should we quit posting and stating our opinions on this subject? I understand,(and actually admire), your trait of wanting to hear the other side of the story. Many times I am to quick to jump to judgement. However, this story has hit Fox news, CNN, AP wires, and countless others, and, this is a Baptist message board, should we just say its none of our business and let it go?

Now that's drama! Better than reality TV. Hey, I might have a new idea for a TV show -

Republican Baptist Church: Episode 1 - God is a Republican.

The church is best led by a plurality of godly Elders that are accountable to one another and the members. But that's another discussion....

Someone in another topic asked about why churches are changing their name and removing Baptist. Another good reason. The article never mentioned the gospel just the infighting.

    Good Evening,

Tonight on the CBS Evening News, they played an excerpt from a sermon last October where the Pastor clearly said that you should leave the church if you vote for Kerry. I turned over to ABC News and they played the same excerpt.

Yes. Does everyone who voted for Bush believe as he does that Christians and Muslims worship the same god?

Of course there are Baptists who voted for Kerry!!! Since when does voting for a Republican have anything to do with being a Baptist? Remember we're not all Southern Baptists. With something like 200 different varieties of Baptists to start with, it is ridiculous to expect Baptists to agree on politics!

Unfortunately I heard the audio played on CBS tonight... I really was hoping it was a misunderstsanding, but apparently it isn't. If that was said in a private meeting where he was expressing his political opinions, that's one thing (which still would not make it right for a man in his position), but stating something like that from the pulpit, in my humble opinion, was wrong.

Maybe he learned a valuable lesson... ??

Since I don't watch network news anymore, I haven't heard this video. Is there a link somewhere on CBS News Website to the audio?

Economics notwithstanding, a vote for Kerry was a vote for abortion and sodomy. No one who voted for Kerry belongs in a Christian church, unless they repent.

The only thing more immoral than abortion and sodomy would be voting to support those ideas for the sake of your pension.

A vote for either party is a vote for abortion and sodomy... We have a republican President, and a republican controlled Congress, and what are they doing to OUTLAW abortion? Okay, they outlawed partial birth abortion... So now those women just have the abortions sooner. What have they done about sodomy? They are offering an alternative to marriage for them...

Just keep in mind that the lessor of two evils is still evil.

    Vote third party...
