As of today December 16 Narnia has made 131 million worldwide. It cost 180 million to make so it has almost broke even and probably will soon.

What is your source for how much it cost to produce Narnia?

I relayed your facts to someone else, and he said.. no way.. 60-80 mil tops. I told him I would look into it. I cant find it anywhere when I yahoo it, but maybe I am not looking in the right places.

Narnia has made 113 million US bringing it's worldwide total to 154 million. It wasn't expected to do much at all this weekend but it finished a very strong second to Kong.

Keep in mind that movies make more money on DVD than at the theaters, so Narnia is going to make its investors ALOT of money for the long haul.

Did anyone really doubt it? It's a good quality screen version of a good quality story (unlike the previous film versions that weren't very good or accurate to the book). What really concerns me is if the kids will still be convincingly young enough during filming of "Prince Caspian", which has been greenlit, and will likely film in late 2006. The young lad who plays Edmund is already sounding a bit "deeper" than his onscreen character.

Comingsoon.net had only predicted CoN to make around 100 million domestically. Some other big hollywood projector had only said it would make 100-120 million domesitally. I guess it's biggest victories is not in how much it's made so far but the fact it made more in the weekends. Everyone was expecting CoN to only make 50 million opening weekend instead it made 65 million and there were many saying it would fall heavily this weekend because of Kong yet it finished a strong second to Kong earning 30 million. While Kong raked in 60 million. The box office is having a very good Christmas this year. Thanks due in large part to CoN.

When the world flocks after something, it is usually an excellent indicator to run the other way.

Over how many years? It has never been an instant success. Christians buy the Bible. EVERYONE is going to see Narnia......sadly.

I am glad that people are going to see a movie that shows that good triumphs over evil, just as The Lord of the Rings did.

Anyone who has a problem with the story of this movie must be eating unripe persimmons.
