NASB or HCSB?

    Translating 'nephesh' as 'life' rather than the traditional translation as 'soul' (I like that!)

    Translating 'Christos' in the NT as 'Messiah' (Takes some getting used to)

    It's those things that make me like the translation the best, as I think that is what the original author was trying to convey :)

    But I already had reasons to prefer the NASB. For one thing, my pastor likes the NASB and it's the pew Bible in our church. Yes, that Judges 3 did make an impression on me. Every part of the Bible is important to me. My prof btw, as I said before, was showing us an interesting exercise in comparing translations.

    I never said the NIV was unworthy. I am not familiar with the ESV or TNIV(only with the controversy around it), as I said on another thread.
