I will be moving to Ft. Worth this summer to continue my studies at SWBTS. I am currently in Michigan and need some help from someone who is currently on campus in Ft. Worth.

If you would be willing to hear what I need help with please email me at [email protected].

    Thank you very much

I'm in Fort Worth and I'm an alumnus, but I haven't been a student there in many years.

    What do you need?

Thank you for responding. Right now I need someone to go to the housing bulletin board and write down any 2 or 3 bedroom units that are listed and email them to me. I decided to move back to TX just a month ago and am not sure I can get into seminary housing, so I am looking for options.

Later I will need to find some guys who would be willing to help me unload when I get there. I would pay them and will be arriving somewhere in the July 18-20th range.

If you could help with either of these let me know.

If an apartment is ok, check out Woodway on the Green Apartment Complex. It is a very nice place. My wife and I stayed there when we lived in Fort Worth. It is in a fairly good part of town, and the management encourages senior citizens and seminary students to live there by offering a discount on deposits, etc...

It is on Woodway BLVD. Go to Alta Mesa and turn right on Woodway. I remember that the rent was pretty good also.

    Hope this helps,

They also have security gates and a security guard.

I'm very familiar with that complex because about 5 or 6 of my friends have lived there over the past decade. (I used to live about a block away in another complex.)

I would not be as quick to recommend it due to the quickly declining neighborhood (lots of drug use and dealing in the area in the past 3 or 4 years -- I've seen it myself and heard about it from a friend who is a police officer assigned to that neighborhood) and the condition of the Woodway on the Green apartments. The apartments are older and the rent is not much better, if any, than other newer apartments in better parts of Fort Worth.

While there is a gate and a guy watching the gate from inside an air-conditioned building off to the side, he waves everyone through... Unless someone held up a sign that said they were up to no good, it would make little difference.

I'll try to get over to the seminary sometime soon and see what they have on the board, but the best solution to finding an apartment in Fort Worth is to use an apartment finder service -- it's free to you and they can look for seminary student discounts and move-in specials.

Thanks for the info. It must have really gone down since I was there. It was a really nice place when we were there. I would highly encourage you to really check the place out and don't rely just on apartment guides to make your decision. We did that before we moved to Woodway and ended up in the middle of a gang war zone...not too fun. I would really avoid the northeast part of town and try to find something closer to the southwest part of town around Hulin and I think Granbury is a pretty nice area.

See if there is a man named Bruce Thompson that still lives there. He rented me a house while I was there. Real close to the seminary. Two beds, one bath, not a real large house. But it was liveable. T
