Hey y'all, I'm back [IMG] My time away from the internet has been productive and enlighting. I have found anew my love for God's Word, and for spending more time in prayer as well.

I'm beginning work on a bible study, and I'd like to get input from y'all. My topic is "Masks." What kind (no, not holloween masks before someone gets cute and throws that out :D ), and why we wear them.

As an example, I'll use the mask of "religiosity" for lack of a better term. Why would someone put on a mask to make them seem super spiritual? Hidden sin in their lives thay don't want anyone to know about?

See, that's what I'm want to do a study on, masks. What other "kinds" of masks can you think of? In addition to the above mentioned religiosity mask, I've also thought of the mask of happiness that one would wear to make everybody think everything was fine and dandy when in reality is isn't.

Any info, comments, and/or suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks, and God Bless!!!

Very interesting topic. I sure hope there is room for those of us who like to disguise our old nature as best we can. It would be terribly embarassing to show the world the jerk that is within me.

That's why I got my education - to mask how ignorant I really am.

Of course, everyone here already knows that I am not joking.

I wear masks at work all the time. When out making deliveries to grouchy customers, I try to keep a pleasant demeanor, because I don't to be responsible for losing their business.

When filling orders in the warehouse and I have to stop what I'm doing to go to the counter to wait on a customer, I have to remember to drop my grimmace and wear a more relaxed expression when approaching the customer.

We dump trash at work once a week, and we generate a good amount during a week. On trash day I try to show a zeal for the task, if for no other reason than just to make everyone think I am crazy. Yep. Trash Day - I like it better than Christmas. ;)

In a family setting, I think that it is often good to hide your feelings over some of the minor disappointments and just get over it. Hopefully other members will reciprocate when they feel let down in some small way.

In the "Sermon on the Mount", Jesus said "Bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you." To me, that seems like putting on a mask of a divine nature, because that instruction goes against the grain of human nature.

Well, that's my two bits. Good luck in your quest, Brother Adam.
