    Frank Zappa

I always guffaw when someone while making fun of someone else...goofs it by some silly mistake like in this case.... Taterkid...it's the A.C.L.U. not the A.L.C.U.

"guffaw when someone while making fun..." now there's a grammatical goof by someone making fun of someone else [IMG]

Do you enjoy the simple things in life?

    Ah!
    A child's smile.

    Sharing my 2-calorie-pink-grapefruit-drink with
    my grandsons.

Seeing how big they are and forgetting that the
youngest cannot handle glass drinkin glasses yet.

    Listening to their chatter.

Watching the joy in their faces as they run across
the floor, making red lightning with their flashing
    shoes.

    (They were over tonight)

Do you enjoy words -- the magic of
communication? In what ways does it show?

Yes, I enjoy words and communication. It usually manifests itself in a smile or a sigh of satisfaction; depending on whether I am the giver or receiver. I love writing letters.

Do you think letter-writing has become a lost art with the advent of the computer age?

I certainly don't write letters! I used to, taking
great pride in my penmanship and the interest the
letters would hold for the reader, but I dread
writing each letter now. -- Dread it to the point
that I would sooner grocery shop, and I don't like
    shopping!

How many pillows get you through the night?

One. Although when making my bed there are far more, and when I read I use 3...but to sleep...one down pillow, that's all.

What kind of pillow do you prefer (for sleeping)?

I have three small ones, three longer ones, and one huge one on my bed. I sleep with all of them on there. My favorite is the long gushy one.

Why does waiting take so long?

lol saggy, it seems to depend how much of a hurry you are in. try not wearing a watch and maybe you won't be so conscious of the time. try thinging in terms of praise songs while u wait, ie the queue at the post office was a My Jesus, My saviour and a Shine Jesus Shine long, or just a psalm 23 long... would you say are you an impatient person?

I would say I'm completly normal, and most people normally feel impatient when patience is tested. I've been waiting for 11 years to have my carpet replaced, and only today broke down about it. I guess I'm more patient than some and less patient than others.

What would you consider appropriate attire to wear to say an amusement park outing with your family in warm weather?

I would wear a pair of pants and a short sleeved shirt - but I hate wearing shorts.

I would have no problem with anyone (male or female) wearing modest shorts and a modest top or shirt.

We need to remember that we represent Christ at all times - so I believe that we should always dress accordingly.

Why do we call them "a pair of pants" when they are only one - and the word pair strongly suggests two.

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...Pant(s) or "Pantaloons" were made of two separate pieces of material, one for each leg. Even though the 2 pieces were sewed together to make one, they still spoke of the finished product as a pair of pants.

Shirts were were made of one major piece of fabric with arms and collars added. Otherwise we would be wearing a pair of shirts.

    Do you starch your shirts?

No, I don't starch hubby's shirts. But when I iron them I use 'Magic Spray'. It is a fabric stiffener as opposed to starch.

Do you wash window blinds or toss them and get new ones?

We usually dust them (blinds) - but seldom wash them. So if and when the cats ruin them - we toss them out and get new ones. Last time I got some made out of metal - mistake - they bend!! :( After they bend they never look the same. Next time we'll go back to plastic.

When will it time to start the picnic season?

We ususally have our first 'official' picnic at the park, every year, on Memorial Day. Of course, it depends on the weather which, so far this year, has been very unstable!

Do you have a picnic table in your yard and do you eat on it often in nice weather?

We do not have a picnic table. If we had one - would we eat at it - probably not very often.

We have a dining room table - and seldom ever use it - I like to eat watching the news on TV; I like to eat and not share my food or myself with insects.

I do have a cat who knows when I've finished whatever is in my bowl or on my plate - and he's right there to finish up whatever I've left on or in the dishware. If I ignore him - you should see the sad look :( he gives me.

This Memorial Day - we intend (Lord willing) to travel to Vermont and spend the weekend with our children and grandchildren.

What are your Memorial Day plans?

    When's Memorial Day, again? [IMG]

I'll actually be heading down to my boyfriend's house for an early birthday celebration.

I am planning a picnic for Memorial Day and time with the family.

Memorial Day is actually May 30th. This year, it is celebrated May 26th (Monday).

Do you spend less time outside because of the "West Nile Virus" scare?

I don't believe the West Nile Virus has hit my area of the planet - so I don't give it much thought.

Maybe I'm just sticking my head in the sand!!

Do you like these Monday holidays - or should we observe them on their given day?

Do you suppose that Christmas, July 4, and New Years Day will ever become Monday holidays?

Sorry about asking two questions - but they seemed to go together. [IMG]

    Yes I do, and no I don't.

Have you prayed for any of our B.B. members who are living in tornado country lately?

Actually, yes. I first heard about the tornadoes this morning, and after my initial, "Oh no!" I realized that there are quite a few people here who live in Missouri and Tennessee, especially. They've been in my thoughts and silent little prayers all day. Have we heard from Jimmy yet?

    Q: Do you recycle?

I always recycle, but our town has made it easy.
The cans, paper, cardboard, and aluminum all go
in the same receptacle, the glass in another, and
the yard waste in another, while the garbage goes
in another can. Garbage goes to the alley, and
recyclables go to the street all on the same day
    each week.

I recycle some things within the home, too. I have
even been known to make some pretty cool
jewelry from mooshed-up brown grocery bags
and a bee hive as well from them. I have made
toys from cardboard and from egg cartons and
a thing or two from throw-away glass. I save
bread bags for storing shoes while traveling,
storing and freezing some foods, etc.

Do you prefer glasses or contacts?
