My Resolution for this year is to read the bible in a year, so I'm going to read it off of this site, the whole four books at once thing.

My question is, what format should I read it in? NIV, KJV?

Which is better to gain a better grasp of understanding?

==Read the version you are more comfortable with. I think you might wish to look into the New Living Translation.

I have to agree with Martin---read what you're most comfortable with, but I'll second the NLT, but get the second ed. 2004. The HCSB is also good for the stated purpose.

I've never really looked much into the NLT, Honestly I've never heard of it until just now. I'm more inclined to read NIV at the moment to tell the truth just don't want to read the wrong version, if you know what I mean

Reading the Bible is a great resolution, but here's a word of caution. I did it one year and after a while, I was reading just because I wanted to finish the Bible and not because I wanted to let the Word speak to me. Now I just read it at my own pace.
