n a stunning reversal, Republican state senators in New York have regained control of the Senate Chamber. Linking together with two Democrats eager to defect from the Democrat-controlled Senate, Republicans have been able to take back the leadership role they have held over the New York State Senate for most of the last 50 years.

The take-over had nothing to do with being anti-obama

The two senators who defected are under scrutiny for...

At the moment, the Dems have went to court - to prevent the take-over to be successful....

All this came about because a year ago, a Republican senator resigned. His seat went up to a special election and won by a Dem in a Four million dollar campaign. Then in the November election, he won again and with another Rep sen loss, the Dems took control.
To add to the story, Syracuse had a Dem senator for 20 years - she became a Rep to be in the majority party - then in the next election (2004) she lost in a three way race as the Conservative Party put up our own candidate as Nancy was a RINO. Once again, the Conservatives let the Republicans know we will not automatically support just any Republican. Had they listen to use back in '04, we would not being having the current problem.

The State Senate has literally been in session just a few hours this past week due to the Dems literally locking the door to the chambers and the ongoing court action.
