Is that what Christianity has come to? We have to include "make-up tips" in order to get today's teens to even look at a bible! How tragic!

The point is that teens aren't reading the Bible more. When you have to, in essence, hide the Word of God (BTW, I am certainly not calling the resolve bible the Word of God)in order to get people to read it, the reading will not have the desired effect.

God doesn't play games with us in order to get us to read the Bible, why should we do so with our children?

It is not hiding the word of God (yes, I will call the Revolve Bible the word of God), nor is it playing games. It is making scripture available in a way that will get some to read it that might normally not. Besides, how do YOU know "the reading will not have the desired effect"? That's between the reader and the Holy Spirit, is it not?

Satanists and others against Chrsitianity are annoyed at the Revolve Bible because God's word is available in yet another medium, reaching some who might not read it otherwise. You're telling me you guys are upset ... for the same reason?!?

Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I don't remember seeing an uproar at the Precious Moments bible.

Of course, I would never want my daughters (if I ever have any) to use it. I just want consistancy of a position.

Then again, I don't want my children using an anglical bible either, so they won't be using the KJV.

People, it isn't about the cover, it is about whether or not it is an ESV thinline, which God has promised to preserve according to the promise in Psalm 12:6-7.

Give me a break. So, if it had two models in swimsuits on the cover, BUT, contained what might be the word of God inside, is that okay?

Why not? Don't you always argue that the text is what is important? Do you "judge a book by its cover"? [IMG]

If you wrap a KJV in a cover that show space ships, does it cease to be the word of God, but is transformed into a science fiction novel? Is the Holy Spirit prevented from speaking and guiding the other readers if you personally don't like the cover?

No, give ME a break. ;)

what you win them WITH is what you win them TO. Kids arent reading the Bible, their reading the make-up. When that stops, so will their "Bible reading."

Yet another person who claims to know how the Holy Spirit will work in someone's life when they read the scriptures bound with a particular cover.

Wow, yet *another* person who is able to know how someone else thinks and how they Holy Spirit would work as they read scripture. This is quite amazing, I wish *I* had this ability that the rest of you seem to have.

Can you hear it [IMG] ....listen [IMG] ....it's the devil laughing at us for believing in his work, well, at least some of us. This is what happens when people doubt the word of God and turn to whatever version they like. I call them BKC(Burger King Christians), because they want it their way.

The devil is laughing because the word of God is more readily available, and more kids are going to read it? The devil is pleased at the spread of scripture?

"And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. [25] And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. [26] And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end."

Ya, I've met some too. They want the KJV only, and don't want God to work any other way. They try to force God into their little 17th century box. ;)

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] So if you take a Bible (KJV, ESV, whatever) and change the cover, it becomes Satan's scripture???

    Nope, sorry to disappoint. [IMG]

I wouldn't buy one either (I already have more KJVs than I need), but it would still be the word of God. That's the whole point.

Has anyone on this thread actually read "Revolve" or it's articles? I haven't, but have heard that it is very well written.
