Biden wants to cut nicotine in Ciggs/

Granted from a medical / spiritual view - that is a good ideal

BUT from a freedom point of view -is that something the
    government should require?

I don't know that it helps. I think it is all the chemicals added to cigarettes that do the real harm. They boost the effects of nicotine perhaps? Old timers said before the 1960's say still in the 50's people could quit smoking much easier. But early 1960's they added chemicals to cigarettes making them highly addictive and toxic. Vaping is nowhere near as toxic, although breathing fresh air by far is the best of all three.

I wonder how they plan to do it. Are they just going to pay more farmers not to grow tobacco?

I am no nicotine expert, but I wonder if it's like Marijuana? MRijuanna plants vary in the amount of THC they produce. It ranges from almost none to massive amounts. We raided an indoor grow that had purple plants. Grower got the seeds from botanist in Mexico who hybridized and did GMO work to increase THC. The buds were sticky and gummy. We handled that raid like all before. We cut them and bagged them without gloves. We all got high. I tested positive for THC several days later. It's been over 20 years, but I believe the lab said buds contained 38% extractable THC. If I remember correctly, average plants were 6 to 8% at that time.
I am betting tobacco plants can be engineered to produce less nicotine.

You can buy claimed by the grower, 41% THC weed in any of the 25 or so pot shops in my area, yet they want to take menthol cigs off the shelves. Maybe caffeinated coffee will be next. Or sugar, or any other ‘evil’ while we are told to celebrate gay pride for a month. Insanity is wokism in a nutshell.

I would disagree with it being good from a spiritual view.

From a freedom point of view it's clearly bad. If Biden tried to tell my business how much Vitamin D my chicken could contain I'd certainly be mad. Especially if I had customers that wanted that level of Vitamin D.

From a spiritual point of view it is good - as smoking is bad.

Yes, I agree with you on that -

I know a lot of Baptists, men and women here, that chew and smoke. The common view here is that anything in moderation is acceptable if it doesn't alter your mind. Cigars, Whiskey, Chew, Corn Whiskey, are permissible IMO. Although I understand other Baptists disagree on these items.

I noticed that when I lived down South
Up here in the North - tobacco is much more of a no-no

Better, imo, to end all govt payments to tobacco farmers. Additionally, all the chemicals put into the cigs cause the addiction and cancers.

    peace to you

They have been ended long ago. Payments that is. The chemicals are still there.

Fair enough. Yes, it’s a good thing for Biden administration to regulate nicotine in tobacco products. It fall squarely within constitutional over site.

    Peace to you

A quick google search found at least $60 million per year in subsidies to tobacco farmers.

    peace to you

Disagree! - If he can do this - then what else will he regulate.
Then anything is subject to be regulated.
IMHO there is just too much regulation by the federal govt.
