You know what? My husband has fun with our children everyday. He plays with them, takes them fishing, 4 wheeling and what not. He is not at all a party pooper. And guess what? We haven't had a tree for years!

The Bible says be ye seperate, is your participation in this time of year seperate from your unsaved family? How is what you are doing any different from the rest? Just because you say it is Christ's birthday, does that make it okay? Where in the Bible does it say to remember Christ with a tree? Cross maybe!

    My feeling/opinion:

I have drawn my own line in the snow concerning Christmas celebration and respect the line that others have drawn.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and God bless us every one (including those who don't) [IMG]

    Hank --

That is the attitude I appreciate. Thank you.
I do hope that all who celebrate it have a won-
derful Christmas. I hope they concentrate
upon the giving and let it reach outside of their
own families to those who are cold and who
    have little.

I pray that this time brings you al closer to our
God and sets your eyes upon His Son, that
praise of His graciousness abound not just in
your prayers but in your normal conversations.
I pray that our God blesses all of you.

The way Gina does it - is almost the way it was done for me - and I hope that it may be that way for any kids I may have

    Walls,
Wouldn't four-wheelin' be just as worldly has hoisting up a Christmas tree--would fishin' be the same hookin' up with a Diawa or a Zebco as it was just castin' a net like Jesus did? I mean, I do all that stuff and all--just wondering--what's worldly and whats not!

    Your friend,
    Blackbird

    Blackbird,

With all due respect the quote I gave, called those who don't have a tree (or something like that) a party pooper. Many things we all do are very worldly. But I think we should not include pagan practices in giving honor to Christ's birth.

Walls, during WW2 the German army took pictures of various units standing around Christmas trees on the Siberian front--sent the pictures back to Germany and told the German people what wonderful times the army units were having--enjoying Christmas around the trees on the Siberian Front! Later it was proven that the pictures were fabricated--

yes--in many ways Christmas is still fabricated--but I can tell from your posts here---really, really! You enjoy the best that Christmas has to offer---so blackbird says to Walls---

    "Merry Christmas! With Blackbird's love!!"

The tooth fairy- they know that isn't real too. It doesn't stop them from putting teeth under their pillow and expecting me to put out some cash from the tooth fairy. LOL I didn't hide the last tooth good enough and my daughter handed it to me and let me know I was a bad tooth fairy

Oh Gina,,,I didn't know that about the cash for teeth under the pillow, and to think, I have been putting mine in a glass all these years [IMG]

    Cheers,

    Jim
