I saw a website recently that claims that Noah's Ark has been found and it's in Turkey. It claims that the size is exact based on the proportions in the Bible ... has anyone seen this? If so, what are your thoughts, do you think it's real? There are pictures on the website. It's funny, but I've not seen this reported on the news, but I don't watch the news much. :tonofbricks:

Anyway, I'm just posting for your thoughts and feedback to see what you all think of this. I don't know the exact website, but you can probably google it and find it right away.

    Thanks for your input!

The first time I saw this was when I was a kid in the 70's. From what I understand, the government of Turkey won't allow anybody to climb up the mountain to investigate whether the object could be the ark.

Yes, I remember seeing a documentary on this back in the 70's and I think it was once an episode of In Search Of... with Leonard Nimoy.

I saw a documentary about it back in the 80's and it was very convincing. There was an aireal view of it and the descriptions matched the Bible.

    I've heard about this before.

I'd like to know what's on the mountain. If is the Ark we need to know and so does the world.

Send a group of archaeologist up the mountain with military backup.

I've got that old documentary in the MC. It's pretty convincing IMHO and I'm fairly skeptical.

From what I've heard, the government of Turkey (or whatever name it goes by now) is very protective and will not let anyone investigate. To me, that sounds fishy. If there's nothing there, what are they hiding? Unless they just don't want people to believe the Bible.

From what I remember of other things I've seen, the government obstacle is only one of the obstacles that would keep somebody from finding it. As I understand, the object is in a place where it's visible only at certain times of the year and is covered by ice and inaccessible the rest of the time.

After some 5,ooo years, is it possible for the Ark to still be recognized as such?

I almost posted this earlier, but held back. In the great scheme of things - it doesn't matter one way or the other. It is part of the faith issue. I believe what the Bible says. I believe in a world-wide flood.

I still enjoyed the documentary (or flights of fiction).

I'm just a romantic at heart, so I can easily believe this, with with a few disclaimers.

1 I do believe the ark is there, BUT the proof will not be available to the public until after the rapture; too much chance for a "piece of THE ark" to become an idol!

2 After the rapture, the proof will be there, giving skeptics that are really searching for truth to be convinced.

3 satan will do everthing in his power to keep the info from reaching the public later because of #2.

Don't believe we as Christians should be concerned at all whether true or no, simply because when it does become "proven", we'll be gone!!

    MARANATHA!!!!

With the way satelites can zoom in on people from space, I would think that it would be visible on that mountain if it did exist.

That's a good way to see what's on the mountain.

    What about Google earth?

I don't think it matters if the ark is there or not. People seek out the ark as proof of the truth of scripture. We as christians already know scripture is true, we don't need physical proof. Those who need physical proof aren't going to believe even if the ark were found and proven to be Noah's ark. Is faith that needs proof really faith at all?

It doesn't really matter. I'd just like to see it. ;)

People make up their own excuses all the time as to why they don't believe in God. All their excuses fall flat.
