Maybe ya ought to spend less time learning Greek and more time learning South-talk. Then you could conversate with all the smart, interesting people instead of a bunch of seminary stick-in-the-muds from up north!

First off, no one was knocking the word of God. Or the KJV, either. "Rabid KJVO" (which means King James Version Onlyism, by the way) was what was said.

And you accuse me of not reading posts!

Actually, Michelle, the word of God convicts of sin. Your "words of God" hooey is really getting old. How can you, with a straight face, actually say that the KJV is the actual words that God 'spoke' to the writers of Scripture? And don't say you didn't, because you argued the point for several days in a thread.

And, no, the world does not like it, but then the world also thinks that Christianity is a joke and a crutch, and are not listening.

Oh, you mean "the word of God"? And I am sure that you are implying the King James? Nah, it doesn't conform to the world. Shoot, it don't even conform to modern English...which is what the lost people around us actually speak.

And it does, through the use of many different translations. Praise God that He has seen fit to bless us with a multitude of viable translations...contrary to what some would have us think (or not think).

No kidding. All these KJVO wahoos running around condemning anyone who doesn't goosestep to their tune, claiming that 400 year old Elisabethan English is oh-so simple to understand ("All you need, dear, is a 1828 Webster dictionary 'cause the modern ones are corrupt don't cha know, and a preacher standing right there, and a Strong's to help you find those pesky verses that use those 'hard-to-find' words we don't use today...").

As I have said before, the world thinks we, as the church, are a joke. And rants like yours prove it to them over and over again.

In Christ,
Trotter

Amen, brother.

It's a sure-fire shame that them city-talkin' Yankees can't even figure out when we Southerners are a jawin' to 'em, or at 'em. Tain't all 'at hard, neither. Makes me a'wonder abouts 'em.

-------------------------------------------------

But at least he can rightly divide the word. A working knowledge of the original languages will serve a man of God for his entire liftime.

No, that's what got them into the mess to start with. It's called King James Version Onlyism.

Oh, and you are the expert to tell us which texts? But I forgot, you go by what the 'traditions of the church' say. Gee, I didn't know you knew Latin...

As a KJVO, the person in question already wuld. No where to go but up...

That's the one that doesn't make any sense. If God allows more that one translation, then His word is preserved. But, if He doesn't, He is not preserving His word (freezing it in English that was outdated when it was translated is not preserving, it is called 'pickling'). Or do the promises of preserving His word only become valid between 1611 and 1769, but not before or after?

In Christ,
Trotter

And based upon how you speak and talk to fellow sisters/bretheren in Christ who oppose your view, how then if you treat us in this manner and tone, does this reflect on unbelievers? - is the above any wonder with such tones of hatred? course words? and labels? Is this to be edifying to another with truth in love Trotter?

With all the malarky and propaganda you dish out, I should be the least of your concerns.

I am rather mild with those who hold opposing views (including you). You have no idea how false doctrine makes my blood boil, and King James Onlyism is just about the worst one of them all, as far as I am concerned.

You are entitled to your own choice os translation, but not to tell others what they may or may not read, or to condemn them for it.

KJVO is a divisive doctrine, newly foisted on the church in 1970 by a small sect and hailed by some ifb'ers and others gorups. Its roots are in the Adventist cult.

These are facts. Speaking the truth in love. So what then are we to do with such a divisive sect?

Titus 3:10-11 "Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned."

Excuse me Dr. Bob, but this is untrue. The only divisiveness that is coming from these threads, are from those who are placing labels on others, calling them names, arguing and false accusing others in an ever so slightful way of not being saved by virtue of their saying they are part of a sect, and worshipping idols, etc, and casting unrighteous judgements upon fellow brothers/sisters in Christ. We are commanded to love one another, and treat one another kindly in the mind of Christ, with Him as our example. We are to speak truth in love. We are to help one another, ecspecially those who are weak. I really would be quick to find another church if any one of you were the Pastor.

Back atcha, sister.

If you came with the same spirit that you show on this Board, you'd have to look for a different church, 'cause I'd have to escort you out.

Yup,

I wouldhave no problem with a KJVO member in my church. But, someone with a divisive and contentious spirit would have to go through the process of church discipline.

use <snip> versions,
--------------------------------------------------

This is the truth. They are <snip>, and you all resort to personal attacks against me, and others, and accuse us of being in a cult because you don't like to hear the truth. How does believing God has given us HIS word 100% attribute to any of that? You are falsely accusing me and others of something we are not. You entreat us with courseness and with no care and concern for us, even though you believe we are caught up in these these things? What kind of love is that? All I see are personal attacks, and very little use of the scriptures. No one here on your side, ever glorifies the Lord. Not many of you even give God the glory for anything. I will leave you all this for you to seriously contemplate, as I also will do:

Matthew 12

22. Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24. But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25. And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26. And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29. Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
30. He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
31. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
33. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,
michelle

Thank for so eloquently expressing my thoughts. However, Granny, Askjo, Bro Lacy (and possibly others) are exceptions to this part of your quote "No one here on your side, ever glorifies the Lord." These three at least do seem to have a desire to glorify God.

If you ever shared some, we would gladly hear it. But "The Word Of God According To Michelle" just won't make it to our best-sellers list. You have zeal, Michelle, but you lack wisdom and discernment., two very important traits of maturity.

It doesn't, because each of us here believe the self-same thing, but we do not claim that it is only found between the covers of the King James. We have God's word, all of God's word, in many different translations, Michelle, not just one. Pout and protest all you want, but His truth is there for all to see in the various translations.

Like what? Being narrow-minded? Bigotted? Worshipping a translation? Condemning others who do not agree with you? Being hard-headed? Of not listening? Of denying the truth? Did I leave any out?

I do not falsely accuse, Michelle, and I call a spade a spade.

I give what I get, and actively oppose lies and false doctrine. You ought to know that by now.

True, we don't cut-and-paste entire chapters like you do, but the Scriptures are the basis of our arguements.

We don't glorify the Lord? Wrong. I glorify Him for giving us His word in different translations so that we can better understadn what He has said. I glorify Him for the gift of salvation. He is glorified all over this Board, but you are too busy skimming everyone's posts to read it.

The only ones dividing us is you, Michelle, and those who uphold the false, man-made doctrine of King James Onlyism. Outside of that, there would be very little disturbance in this forum. But you and yours come in here with your "truth" and try to shout down everyone else.

Sorry, but that doesn't sit well with me, or several others in these here parts.

In Christ,

You only oppose the truth, and stand for the lies, and then attack those who are sharing that truth with you. You haven't even provided one scriptural support for your view, yet you claim I believe a false doctrine? You can't even prove with the scriptures that I do as you claim.

I have given you ample scripture showing you the reason for our belief and you reject it. You all only like to argue a label. You could care less about the truth. Discernment is something that many of you need to pray for, because you can't see the deception and lies that have been fed to you. I hope and pray that some day you will. You wouldn't gladly hear the truth if it meant your life.

You are falsely accusing me, and someday you WILL know this. And based upon your blindness, I have to wonder if you wouldn't know a spade if it came right in front of your face.

--------------------------------------------------
I give what I get, and actively oppose lies and false doctrine. You ought to know that by now.
--------------------------------------------------

And you are actively opposing something you have made up in your own mind, to blind yourself from hearing the truth regarding this issue. You are calling the truth a lie, and the lie the truth.

--------------------------------------------------

I posted those scriptures as to show them based upon what I was saying, and showing the whole context so as to not be accused again of taking the scriptures out of context. I did not think that posting the scriptures was going to upset anyone, and I am very shocked that it did. The snide remarks of others concerning it were immature and unlike anything I would have ever expected coming from christians. And many have not refered to the scriptures at all, unless you're debating the truth within them. It is very easy for all of you to claim that something is not true, and yet not have to prove it with anything, and most importantly with the scriptures. Many here do not rightly divide the word of truth, as we are commanded to do. How do I know this? Because you never give them when you are denying someones interpretation, or to even justify your belief. It is easy to show how someone might be wrong in their understanding of the scripture, but most christians reference scripture with scripture for the benefit of the persons understanding, to which many of you do not do. It has been a very rare occasion that I have ever witnessed this.

You are wrong. Most posting on these boards never give glory to the Lord. I have not witnessed this coming from those who are in your camp. I never even see the name of our Saviour Jesus in your posts.

I don't skim posts. I read them and try to understand them most of the time. And when I have misunderstood them, I have always apologized. I try my best not to misunderstand or assume (unlike you all). Many of you only like to take even my posts out of context of what I have said, and twist my words to say something I have never said. Or take what I have said, and ask me a question that you know very well I have already answered, or to which I have explained in that very post.

--------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------

The only thing that divides us is your compromise with error, and your refusal to see it. Then when the truth hits hard, many retaliate with personal attacks. This is supposed to be a christian debate board, discussing a very serious issue. Yet one enters this forum and one feels as though one is at a football game, routing for their favorite team and the team is left out of the game.
There aren't many others that post in here sharing my side of this (save granny,Lacy,Askjo, A-A) because you have bullied everyone away, all because they love you enouph to share the truth with you. And you are complaining about little ol me? I am not allowed to post in here and share my understanding of things? You are right about one thing, the KJVO is man-made: a man-made label you have all made up to argue against the truth so that you feel justified at the end of the day. Don't worry about it. I do not think I will be spending too much time in here anymore, because none of you even care about the truth. (Matt.7)
