Sent the link to Wesboro Baptist Church and the first of their "favorite hymns" to share with our nation. "America The Burning"

    O wicked land of sodomites
    Your World Trade Center’s gone
With crashing planes and burning flames
To hell their souls have flown

    America, America
God showed his wrath to thee
He cursed this land with a terrorist’s hand
    To show his sovereignty

    O wicked land of sodomites
    Your Pentagon is square
With crashing plane and burning flames
They went to hell with flare

    America, America
God showed his wrath to thee
He cursed this land with his own hand
    To show his sovereignty

    O wicked land of sodomites
    You’re running from yourselves
    Your disobedience to God’s law
Has jeopardized your health (and wealth)

    America, America
God showed his wrath to thee
He cursed this land with a sniper’s hand
    To show his sovereignty

    O wicked land of sodomites
    God struck the shuttle down
With body parts and broken hearts
He scattered them around (all over Texas)

    America, America
God showed his wrath to thee
He cursed this land with Columbia’s end
    To show his sovereignty

    O wicked land of sodomites
    The flames are burning high
With dozens dying in the fires
    God’s laughing at your cry

    America, America
God showed his wrath to thee
He smote this land with a fiery hand
    To show his sovereignty

    O wicked land of sodomites
    God burned Rhode Island down
They made a fag their Providence Mayor
    God’s answer is profound

    America, America
God showed his wrath to thee
He smote this land with his furious hand
    To show his sovereignty

Here is a link to this Baptist Church. And we wonder why "baptist" is becoming a bad word in many minds.

    No wonder, huh?

There are enough such churches that the Landover site has just enough truth to cause genuine Baptists pain.

He claims to be Primative Baptist, but there is nothing of Christ about this man driven by demons.

Being from Kansas and only about 50 miles from Topeka, where the Phelp's family resides, I have watched this apostle of hate.
He is "pastor" of the Westboro Baptist Church, (which is located in the Phelp's family compound and the membership made up of his children, grandchildren, and a scant few deluded souls).

This apostle of hate "feeds" off of the hatred of others, the controversy and subsequent publicity his actions can produce, and he desires nothing more then to be the center of attention.

This apostle of hate ran for governor a few years ago, wearing hot pink bicycle shorts, and riding his bike across Kansas. Thankfully he never had a chance, except the publicity fed this maniac's ego.

Most of this apostle of hate's children are lawyers, several including Phelps have been disbarred, and one of the primary vehicle's is to bring frivalous lawsuits against institutions and public officials. They are a true parasite on society.

Here is a site which reveals the true character of this apostle of hate, as revealed by testimony from some of his children who have left this cult, and public record. Beware for the material contains much graphic violence by Phelps against his children:

ADDICTED TO HATE"And be sure your sin will find you out." (Num. 32:23)by Jon Michael Bellwith Joe Taschler and Steve Fry

IMPORTANT NOTES FROM THE ANTI-PHELPS UNDERGROUND
On June 29, 1994 Jon Michael Bell, a former reporter hired to investigate Fred Phelps and Westboro Baptist Church by Stauffer Communications, Inc.,filed a lawsuit in Shawnee County District Court in Topeka, Kansas against Stauffer Communications alleging the Topeka Capital-Journal owed him compensation for overtime and to clarify ownership of his notes and work product. The work product in question, "Addicted to Hate" chronicling the life and times of Fred Phelps, was attached to the lawsuit as Exhibit A making it, therefore, a public document. Learning of the suit, members of Topeka's anti-Phelps underground delivered a certified copy of the lawsuit to a copy shop near the courthouse.Within 48 hours, Stauffer Communications had written all area media outlets and issued veiled warnings about using the information contained in "Addicted to Hate". A rival Topeka newspaper, the Metro News, announced it was considering publishing the lawsuit in it entirety. The Kansas City Star abided by Stauffer Communication's wishes, but several other media outlets aired or printed portions of the manuscript. Within 48 hours of the filing, Stauffer Communications persuaded a judge to seal the suit so the Clerk of the District Court could no longer make copies for the public. No matter - no such order was issued to the copy shop or to the hundreds of citizens that already had copies.

On July 8, 1994 the Capital-Journal, which had deep-sixed the Phelps project and fired the publisher who authorized it when it was completed last fall, suddenly began its watered-down, copyrighted series on Phelps that they had earlier claimed they wouldn't print. Bell also withdrew his suit the same day. By this time, however, TV networks, wire services, and eastern newspapers had obtained copies of the manuscript, and Stauffer's unprecedented attempt to suppress media discussion of the document attracted the interest of several major East Coast newspapers on First Amendment grounds.

Phelps, a self-proclaimed advocate of the First Amendment, whose 'free speech activities include libel, slander defamation of character, intimidation, obscene language, battery, promptly denounced Stauffer Communications and denied the allegations of child abuse, spouse abuse, and other illegal activities. Anyone familiar with Phelps and his children who remain loyal to him, however, can clearly see these adult children and his wife suffer from the grotesque and obvious behaviors symptomatic of severe, long-term abuse. Where and how the twisted saga of Fred Phelps will end is anyone's guess.

Had me worried for a moment cos we have a Westboro Baptist Church in Canada......Now I remember this bloke. He came to Canada a few years back to do a big protest march in Ottawa and was booted out of the country along with his family and his protestors.

This is the disgusted blagueur at this site in Topeka, Kansas.. He even brings shame to Bob Jones University.

Glad he was American and not some Canadian shooting his mouth off.

    Cheers, and God bless America,

Things like this really frighten me for folks,
because the Lord's Day is coming, and who shall
stand? Those who write and teach such
disgusting rhetoric? Where is the love by which
the Lord said we will be known?

Fred Phelps is for real, but is certainly not a man of God. He wields the law like a club to his favor, through his many family of lawyers, just as he has taken a real club to his children growing-up. We can only pray that our Lord will knock this apostle of hate right out of the "saddle", as He did once long ago on a road to Damascus.

May God pierce through the darkness and break asunder the chains upon this man's soul.

Actually, on the links page, he claims that the church is Independent Baptist. I would hate for people to think that we Primitives believe this guy's hate rhetoric. I think the "church" would be better named the Westboro KKK Church. It seems to fit that description better than that of a church.

I went to the page for songs, and they were singing this song. Also, he has a map of the United States. If you click on a particular state, he has a break down of most major disasters and attacks that have happened in that state in recent years. He also claims this to be God's work.

Now, I don't know about him, but I for one will not be going around saying that every disaster that happens is attributable to God. Maybe God did take His hedge from around the U.S. to show us just how insignificant we are, I don't know. But, I will surely not be going around telling everyone that all of the people who perished in the World Trade Center attack went to hell. That is exactly what he says in this song.

    DISGUSTING!!!

I would say he should be ashamed of himself, but obviously he has no shame. He could do with a good dose of real preaching. How about "love thy neighbor."

Oh, well. We should be thankful that there aren't all that many like him out there.

Incorporated in 1967 as a not-for-profit organization, the virulently homophobic Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) considers itself an "Old School (or, Primitive)" Baptist Church. The Church is led by the septuagenarian Reverend Fred Waldron Phelps Sr., and many WBC congregants are related to Phelps by blood. His wife, several of his children and dozens of his grandchildren frequent the church.

I had heard him on the Donahue Show refer to himself as a Primitive Baptist Not that he is any true Baptist at all, but he has used the term, and he uses it as an excuse to say that only a set few are predestined to be saved.

    rsr, you're right, I am. :( [IMG]

Of course, it sounds more like he just picked the name out of a hat. The first give-away is his calling himself Reverend. No true Primitive Baptist uses the title Reverend.

I think he just liked the name because it relays a sense of old-fashioned values. Of course, he would do good to actually read some of our Articles of Faith.

For this so-called PB, my next question would be who ordained him? No one, would be my guess. Or rather, it is a divine ordination. God told him to preach, so God ordained him.

If this "reverend" Phelps weren't so evil, this would be a joke. What a shame that it isn't.

It would appear from the original article that I referenced and linked, that Phelps was originally ordained SBC at age 17. When he first came to Topeka, I think '54, that he was assistant pastor at an east side Baptist Church. When they decided to expand they financed the Westside church, and a quantity of the members attended to get it started. It seems Phelps drove away most all but his family, moved into the building, and through legal finagling came away with the Westboro Baptist church.

The original eastside congregation tried unsuccessfully to cancel the lease and remove Phelps but he persevered and today the building forms the core of the Phelps compound. He transferred his credits from Bob Jones University, to Washburn, where he earned his law degree, and he has twisted the law ever since to accomplish his agendas.
