Ever since the sub-forum for Calivinism got deleted, that topic has basically taken over the theology section. Now it's creeping into the general discussions area and even into the pastors section. Can we please keep all the fights about Calvinism at least contained to one area??? Mods??

I for one have almost stopped posting in certain sections of this board because they are nothing but Calvinistic topics. Enough already! And please don't tell me I can just "skip" those threads. I already do. But it is very frustrating to have the same posters basically taking over whole areas of the board just for one topic. It makes those of us who don't want to discuss it, not want to visit or discuss anything. Believe it or not, there is more to being a Baptist than just that one issue.

I totally agree with you here!! It seems like the discussion comes in on threads that have nothing to do with the C/A debate either!!

I said the same thing in an earlier thread. I can't remember what the outcome was..... Oh yeah. I remember: nothing changed.

I said that months ago. I know of some members who have left the board because of it. I don't post as much anymore because of it.

I agree. We should resurrect a C/A forum to quarantine the endless discussions.

It wouldn't matter. If the issue of toilet paper came up there are some who could not engage the matter without accusing someone of holding an Arminian view on it.

Why almost stop posting because of what others post? Sorry, but I don't get the logic behind that.

To be fair, many non-cals turn discussions into cal/arm debates that had nothing to do with it in the first place. So, other topics tend to come to this head anyway.

We have a "theology" forum here, I don't think cal/arm debates need to be moved into "their own section," as they will still be visible on the "new posts" page, or "todays posts" page and they'll still get the same attention, and frankly many persons love to debate this topic to ad nauseum. It's an interesting issue on the theological landscape. Calvinism and Arminianism and non-cals are hot topics within the church right now, and have been for a long time.

Also, one is free to add topics one deems more interesting at will here as the BB allows. I don't allow other topics, threads, discussions deter me from making a new topic because "I don't like seeing them."

What topic would you like to discuss that is neither calvinistic nor arminian? I would love opportunity to engage in something other than that myself, if interesting enough. Do you have anything in mind?

    - Peace

or someone else saying that would be perfect for the cals here... Something that could be used by them to "flush" thier theology away with!

You know what? My two closest friends are reformed. And yet as we fellowship, pray, and study together never does any one of them feel the need to make statements that are made on this board ie:

    "Calvinism is the gospel"

"if your do not believe calvinism God has not granted you the ability to do so or you would"

    "you hold to arminian theology"

    "you hold to pelagian theology"

I could go on if I felt like looking up some of the more arrogant statements made,

oh and I really loved this one, and I paraphrase you understand " arminians just want us to give up the high ground".

I asked my friends about it. One is in his thirties the other in his eighties. They both agreed that such statements come over zealous and spiritually immature folks and is quite often found among the reformed.

People of every doctrine are guilty of doing such things. But on this board reformed folks seem to get a pass more than others.

Why single out Calvinism for this? I have seen posts from both "sides" that seem to want to turn almost every thread into a calvisism -noncalvinism debate. Perhaps it is because apparently there used to be a separate Calvinist forum on the BB (that must have been a long time ago, as iut wasn't there when I joined in 2007, and I can't even find it in the archives!) bot there was no forum specifically dedicated to non-calvinism.

One major problem here, Sissy. The Calvinists were foreordained to do it, and we Arminians chose to do it...LOL.....I know, oh brother!!

Brother, even doing this, I do not think would solve the problem.

However, I think the C/A forum needs brought back, and if anyone starts a C/A thread outside of that forum, or starts a C/A debate in another forum(highlacking that thread and turning into a C/A debate), etc., should get a warning, and if they do it again, 10 days supension, and after that, permanent expulsion. That way, it would keep this topic in one general area, and not all over this board. Does this sound like an option? Mods, what do you think about this suggestion?
