The more that learn to read the less learn how to make a living. That's one thing about a little education. It spoils you for actual work. The more you know the more you think somebody owes you a living.

Things in our country run in spite of government, not by aid of it.

That makes perfect sense. Here's one:

"Government is not the solution, government is the problem."

I like Will Rogers and his comments. This one however may have been true during his lifetime, but not in todays world. Reading is essential in almost all jobs today. In our world I think the followng line is more accurate:

If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

I do not know who is given credit for this line.

    Yes We Have Change

Is this man still alive?

Now don't you go and answer that one, I know that he is long gone but his satire is quite good. Why I even think that Rush would have a problem meeting this man's wit.

I'm not too sure about that Crabby. It seems that he is referring to the fact that the more educated a person gets they tend to think that they need not to work but are owed a living. That seems so true in today's society.

    In a similar vein:
"A little learning is a dangerous thing; drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring: there shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, and drinking largely sobers us again." -Alexander Pope (1688 - 1744) in An Essay on Criticism, 1709:
