Obama’s Blocking Of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts

Fury as hospitals hit with outages while post-industrial collapse of America accelerates

Alex Jones & Paul Joseph Watson
    Thursday, February 3, 2011

The rolling blackouts now being implemented in Texas and across the country as record cold weather grips the United States are a direct consequence of the Obama administration’s agenda to lay siege to the coal industry, launch a takeover of infrastructure under the contrived global warming scam, and help usher in the post-industrial collapse of America.

My FIL worked at Alabama Power's fossil fuel generating plant in Wilsonville, AL------------he said that it all began when the EPA began to clamp down on exhaust----------having plants to develop "Scrubbers" that costs billions and billions of dollars

Texas is leading the fight against Obama's EPA and their end run around the legislative process.

EPA Ordered to Wait on Taking Over Texas' Greenhouse Gas Permitting

    By GABRIEL NELSON of Greenwire
    Published: January 3, 2011

U.S. EPA's plan to sidestep state officials and oversee climate rules in Texas has been temporarily blocked by a federal court, making the Lone Star State the only place where businesses cannot apply for greenhouse gas permits that the Obama administration now requires.

I am not at all encouraged by any Court Order because so far the obama regime has simply ignored all court orders to date...

They have ceased to be merely contemptable and have begune to be in legal contempt as well...

I seem to rememebr such a character in a Steven Segal movie, "Above The Law"...

Sadly, it is not just Obama, though he is certainly the most non-energy president in our history. We really need nuclear power -- it is relatively inexpensive and very effective. The last nuclear power plant to be approved was approved in 1973, and is STILL under construction due to ever-shifting regulations and infringements.

I don't get pushing electric cars that need to be plugged in somewhere when we also have a crumbling electrical grid with ancient power plants that already cannot handle the loads imposed on them from one hot summer day.

I also don't get pushing "alternative fuels" (like corn, etc.) when food cost is breaking many American families and when the cost of producing these alternative fuels is much greater than oil.

If we are truly going to consider "sustainable" power production, we have to start taking into account ALL of the costs involved, including infrastructure and hidden costs, like plugging in electric cars, for instance.

The lead time on a new power plant is 10 years minimum. What was Obama doing 10 years ago? Blame Bush. It was his administration that blocked plants that would be going on line this year.

    Bolded mine

If there's a 10 yr MIN, lets say reality is 12 (+/-) years - who was president then?

    Get real!

Blame those responsible -- the enviros, peta types, liberals who are scared silly of atoms, bureaucrat policies that have outlived their initial usefulness and are "updated" to justify these same bureaucrats existence. Same yo-yos that have stymied oil exploration in the US, driven up the cost of virtually everything to protect a snail-darter, star moss or whatever; tried to tell us the planet is warming from CO2 emissions - God must be laughing at their arrogance after this winter!!

    Etc., etc., ad infinitum!!!:BangHead:

I heard on the news just yesterday that Mexico was "thinking about" sending "juice" over to Texas to help them during this current cold spell---but that they changed their minds because they were having a cold spell themselves and needed the electricity!!

    No joke!!!

Would you all be happy if Mexico was a part of the US electrical grid?
