A nutcase for wanting life without Roe, Jerry?

Much of the abortion industry is funded by our tax dollars. Of course, they will inflate the figures. Abortion and all the related businesses that go along with it is big business. Baby body parts is BIG Business. Greed is a motivating factor for the abortion industry to keep on going!

    Andy,

You are exactly correct. My mom and dad are 88 and 90 respectively. They are old school Southern Yellow Dog Democrats. They are also both born again believers. However, when I discuss the abortion issue with them they wholeheartedly agree with me that killing babies is wrong. So I ask them, “If you really believe this how can you support the Democratic Party and its platform on abortion? My mom will respond, "The Democrats do not support abortion. They are for a woman's right to choose." I ask her, "Mom what does a woman's right to choose mean?" She will reply, "A woman's right to choose means that no one can tell her that she has to have an abortion if she does not want one." They are totally deceived and no one can tell them otherwise. The good thing is they were huge Hillary supporters and now say they likely will not vote in November because of the way Mrs. Clinton has been treated by the DNC.

His figures are wrong. You full well know the numbers didn't go up that much in one year.

Why do you continue to put words in my mouth?

    Pastor Larry said,
    I replied,
    Then you said,
Now, why is it alright for Pastor Larry to question my honesty when I wasn’t even a topic or even on the thread at all, yet you say something to me, but not to him?

Of course I know there were abortions before 1973, but it was less than now.

There's a book in which the author admits that numbers were inflated - he was involved in the abortion movement when it was illegal. I can't think of his name or the book - I had it at one time.

This is off-topic. I replied to your duplicate PM. Let's keep there.

Though your numbers have shown to be incorrect, it doesn't really matter, since abortion was legal in some states prior to 1973. See other thread.

This may have been mentioned in this thread, so my apologies if I'm not covering new ground with this question.

Why is Obama going after McCain on abortion?

Those that are pro-abortion were never going to vote for McCain in the first place. Nothing gained by Obama there. Those that are pro-life and are going to vote for Obama aren't basing that vote on the abortion issue, so Obama isn't going to win any votes from them. It seems somewhat likely that somebody considering voting Obama despite their pro-life beliefs may start wrestling with their conscience over the issue. Why call attention to the issue and get somebody thinking that maybe they need to rethink their vote. Finally, those that are pro-life and anti-Obama are only going to be further entrenched in their position, so that doesn't win any votes either.

What am I missing here? Why is Obama wasting his time and money going after McCain on abortion when it doesn't look like there are votes to be won by doing so?

Thos who are pro-child murder and may vote for McCain are the target it seems. This is a tactic to raise fears of losing rights. Such appeals raise emotions and could change minds.

That's fine. I am not asking you to trust me. I was asking for a resolution to an apparent contradiction between what Obama says and what some of his supporters say. Who should we believe? Him or you? And why?
