No, this is not about the Palestinian Liberation Army, it is about Project Labor Agreements. I heard about this on the radio. This is an executive order signed by Obama last year with much support from the Democrats that is designed to support the unions and keep non-union contractors from getting federal construction projects. Non-union contractors represent approximately 85% of all contractors.

Here is the site to learn about this.

    http://www.thetruthaboutplas.com/

The basic idea of these PLAs is to award all federal construction projects to unions. They put non-union contractors at a great disadvantage. For instance, even if a non-union contractor already provides pension and health care benefits to it's workers, it must pay for these same benefits to the unions, although the non-union workers cannot use these benefits. So, a non-union contractor must pay for the same benefits twice, driving up their costs. This of course has the effect of eliminating competition which keeps the cost down. Also, the unions can use this money any way they wish, the non-union contractor has no say in how these funds are used.

The non-union contractor also has to abide by many other union rules and regulations.

Obama has a trained team that goes to all the government agencies encouraging them to use these agreements when awarding construction contracts.

The fellow I heard on the radio said these agreements have the effect of raising the cost on federal construction projects an average of 18%.

And of course, these agreements almost guarantee that only union contractors who overwhelmingly support Democratic candidates will get huge federal construction contracts.

What is amazing is that Obama signed this executive order when our country was in shambles financially. It drives up costs at the time we could least afford it, and promotes unemployment among non-union contractors.

Anybody still doubt the "0"s aim is to turn us into a 3rd world country on his watch???:BangHead:

All I can say is that if this is NOT his aim, he's surely making all the right moves to accomplish something that is not his aim!:confused:
