Local police forces don't need to have access to this type of weaponry. It isn't a total ban, but a limited one.

I can't promise anything but I can predict that democrats and republicans will use their Frankenstein to grant themselves more money, more power and more control.

It's an easy prediction because democrats and republicans have repeated the process of "rule by crisis" to consolidate their power and control over us many times in the past.

 

The paleo-cons want everything to be stone age like them. The paleo-cons have about as much influence as Putin at a country club.

What "paleos" want is a sane foreign policy that follows the constitution and that doesn't include meddling in everyone else's affairs, routine regime changes, nation building, providing money, training and weapons to future enemies which adds to the increasing number of people around the world that hate us.

Conservatives used to believe in those things until Al CIA Duh and the neocons scared "the majority" of them so bad they wet their pants and pleaded for big government to save them from the boogeyman it helped create.

Now we're left with an alleged "majority" of fearful paranoid neo-con-verts with soggy bottoms.

 

Maybe it's because BO wants to keep as much military grade equipment as he can so that when the Feds come in to pacify our local communities they'll have sufficient hardware to match their jack-booted goons' distaste for us who still cling to that antiquated Bill of Rights.
