Link please, I wasn't aware of his plan to eliminate EGTRRA or perhaps he is going to augment the under $200K crowd with new tax cuts.

Actually thats my logic... The fact that all foreign good are in Walmarts is further outcome of NAFTA and cutting import taxes in all these free trade agreements. Sure, we consume foreign good but no one wants any of our products. Not when the guy at the GM plant makes $75K/yr...

Agreed... I like how Obama is inviting idea's from the other side of the isle. I don't believe the solution is either conservative or liberal, I think it will have to be American.

Reagan's "trickle down" economic philosophy was a disaster. I'm surprised there are still people who believe it was a success. It was Reagan's single most failure as president. And there are many to choose from. The last thing the U.S. needs is another Reagan!

What caused the economic crisis today was the sub prime mortgage mess [loans to people who could not pay] forced on the banks by the democrats and the blocking by democrats in Congress, particularly Barney Franks and Chris Dodd, of efforts by Republicans to open the corruption at Fannie and Freddie.:BangHead:

    1. You are wrong, OR.

    2. That is certainly not the way it is perceived by most people...and it never will be. History will always blame the conservative Republican Bush administration for this economic catastrophe(which is accurate) and conservatives attempting to deny reality might make them feel better while they cry in their beer but that's all it will be - a denial of reality.

"Trickle down" just like "Star Wars" are phrases invented by democrats dumping on Reagan proposals. Both worked. We had the longest peace time expansion in history following Carters "misery index" and a missile defense system is working. In fact the Strategic Missile Defense system is one cause of the breakup of the Soviet Union and the freeing of millions of people.

Correct history will not blame the Bush Administration because he is not the cause. The cause is just what I stated with the help of a leftist media which has been screaming recession since 2002.:BangHead: :BangHead:

People are only now learning that the Great depression was extended until WWII by the policies of our first socialist president, FDR, and our first communist first lady Eleanor.

You repeat this line often...that doesn't make it any more true.

Good luck finding any facts to back you up.

Continuing to say I'm wrong doesn't make you right. Reagan was overrated as a president. And to add, he was a real wimp when it came to fighting terrorists. On his watch 241 Marines were murdered, and all he did was to tuck tail and run!

So Reagan's pullback from Lebannon was "tucking tail and running," but Obama, et.al., who want to pull from Iraq...well, are they tucking tail and running?

IMHO, both moves are the correct ones. My problem is I'm not a hack with an axe to grind, regardless of the circumstances.

What more can we do in Iraq? They want us to go and they feel we are causing the violence so what are we trying to achieve? Peace in the Middle east??? We can sure use the $10 Bill/mo savings also.

I'm sorry...I didn't realize standing up to the Evil empire was wimpy.

I also wasn't aware that having zero military casualties was a prerequisite to being a good president.

In that case, William Henry Harrison (in office 1 month) is the only president you will like.

Anyway, my last post off topic. Sorry.
