JerryL has a good point, the other side is just giving lip service. They control the White House and the Supreme court, why don't they over turn ROE v. WADE?

I think you hate the democratic party for being honest... My $00.02

Which candidate does stand for the Lord and His teachings? Bush??? Is being against abortion and gay marriage the only requirement for being on the Lord's side?

    Nope...

I am not a Bush fan...but electing someone who wil undermine our moral standards is not the answer.

I dont like McCain either, but at least he doesnt owe a political debt to the homosexual and abortion lobby.

And no...that is not the only requierment....but....

But if you promote these thigs, then it is a pretty sure indicator up front that you are not godly and not on the Lord's side.

Honest?!? Are you kidding me...the democratic party honest?!? Like the war zone fables of Hillary? Like Obama not having a clue what his pastor of 20 years taught and believed? The wool has been pulled over your eyes.

It takes more than one man to everturn R vs. W. With each conservative presidential appointment of supreme court judges, the closer to extinction for R vs. W we get. Bush did his part. I pray McCain will do his, too, if he has the opportunity.

Because there are lots more issues than just those two hobby horses of conservative Christians.

I hope so, but I doubt it. Even conservative justices will think twice before voting to cause the social upheaval that overturning Roe v. Wade would cause.

Of course, even if it is overturn that, in itself, will not stop a single abortion. That will return to the status quo before Roe v. Wade - which was that it was left up to each state to make its own abortion laws.

It is so easy for the republicans to get up and say they stand against those issues and then do nothing more after they are in office. They have proven it time and time again. People can continue to vote for those two issues while the country goes down the toilet, not me. As I stated before, what has voting for someone based on their "words" gotten us so far. It is easy to state you are against something just to get votes, then do nothing. I'm not going to be fooled by thoses "words" any longer. I've voted for and given the Republicans 24 years worth of votes on those issues, and for what? Bush don't have to "push immorality on them by law." The law is already on that side and not chaned as long as I have been voting.

Souter is on borrowed time (87 years old), so I believe the next appointment will be drawing near. I have no idea why George I appointed a liberal. If he had appointed a conservative, R vs. W could have been history by now.

Do the math! If the republicans really cared about overturning Roe v Wade, they have the votes to do it.

BTW, as stated by Ken, overturning RvW would not stop abortion, just return it to the individual states to decide.

The right-wing just hates, period, dragonfly. It may be a result of self-hatred. If one hates oneself then he/she will hate others, too. It's sad, dragonfly, really sad. :tear:

For proof just look at Webdog's reply to my question. Such bitterness is unseemly for a Christian.
