I'm hearing that the reference to God and Jerusalem is back in the platform. Don't know how true it is.

This is the reason I don't get excited about Romney's Mormonism. We had a true blue "born again" believer in the White House and he was a miserable failure.

You might check with CTB on that!

Religion may or may not imply God. It does to a lot of people; in fact it implies the one true God to many people.

I am not contending that God should or should not be in the Constitution. However, God, as conceived by Jefferson, is in the initial founding document.

That being said if God were mentioned in the Constitution the ACLU would sue claiming it was unconstitutional.

Well - this is all a moot point now, because the Democrats reinstalled "God" and "Jerusalem" back into their platform today.

    Thread is here: http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=81185

At least they took the mask off for awhile so people could see, at least those people who were willing to look.

Well, in Israel, Jerusalem is the Capital. The Knesset is in Jerusalem and the other government buildings. Jerusalem is the City of David, not the City of Mohammed or the City of Ishmael. The fact that our US embassy is in Tel Aviv is apt to change if Mitt Romney is President (Yes, I truly believe that, based on his Mormon teachings.) and the fact that our previous presidents have not had the shall we say, "spine," to move our embassy is quite telling. Even Hillary at one time mentioned that the embassy should be moved to Jerusalem years ago (before she was Secretary of State under BO).

It was a good thing that they brought this up. Listening to the vote as the head of the Convention did it did not sound to me that is passed.
