I am sad for him, and to susepct of a ploy for visiting a person he loves just seems so wrong to me. He was just there to see her in August.

    From THIS article

He obviously cares deeply about his grandmother. It is sad to see Christians with such contempt for their 'enemy' that they will attack him even for this :(. I guess Jesus was right - it is easy to love those who are on your side, its tough to love your enemy.

If I were to do what Ladyeagle is doing here to a anti-Obama thread, she would either delete my postings or close the thread. I guess what is good for the goose is not good for the gander.

I would hope, as well, that your heart is broken for all the innocent babies he has allowed to die at the hands of abortionists and those who have been born alive and died on dirty contaminated linen, cold and alone.

I was not there when my aging father died in another state, or my sister in another state, I hope your heart is broken for me, as well.

So, you admit he is our enemy.

    Is this not off topic????

Of course my heart breaks for the unborn dead, and you know that as well as I do, but that is not the point of this thread.

Why can't we stay in topic here?

And you also know that my point is even if we see someone as our enemy we are to love them. Is is not calloused to not feel for man whose grandmother is dying?

I did not say I did not feel for a man whose grandmother is dying. You will also note that I am not the person on this thread who brought up the BC issue, but attempted to answer a question about which grandmother after the BC issue was raised.

Then why do you keep dragging this off topic and accusing him of ulterior motives?

I hate his stand on abortion, but that is not the topic of this thread either.

I think it is indeed newsworthy, that with less than 2 weeks to go before the election a man would suspend his campaign to visit his sick grandmother.

Can you imagine the response here if she died and he didn't go?

For any Christian who sees him as an enemy, now is a good time to love him.

You can show love to someone and still question their motives. You are asking all on here to love and blindly trust someone who has a history of being untrustworthy.

Love and trust are not the same thing. Love comes from the Heart of God. Trust has to be earned. BHO has not earned my trust.

Loving your enemy means showing them the truth even when the truth is ugly and responding in love. I have not interacted with BHO, so therefore do not have the opportunity to show him love or truth. But I can pray for his pain and pray for his salvation and pray that his dying grandmother knows Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. I think that is the appropriate Christian response.

And if you are talking about compassion, I think we can all agree to have compassion on a man whose grandmother may be dying.

But to equate blind trust and love is comparing apples and oranges. The Scripture says to love our enemies, but says nothing about trusting them or their motives, and that is what you are asking us to do or it doesn't fit your definition of love.

I appreciate your explanation. Previous your tone has sounded very unloving so it is good to hear it clarified.

It is not blind trust to feel pity for a man in his situation however.
