    I believe Bill Clinton said, in early 2001, that the reason, or a big reason, Al Gore lost, was because of opposition from gun owners. I know "Forbes" magazine, in 2001, upped the NRA from number two to number one, in its list of top lobby organizations.

    Exactly why might the people who own both parties care if Americans shoot each other? None of them are in jepordy.
