Good for them, I really want to hear from our future leader.

If you don't already know the politics of both candidates , a "debate" won't help you.

Today's political debates, especially with the biased moderators ordinarily used, are not designed to inform us of policy. They are purely to see who messes up telling us about what we already know.

Normally you would be right, however, this crises dictates we should hear both short and long term solutions. I want each candidate to look squarely in the camera and say if they support or don't support this $700 Bil bailout Bush is asking for. McCain has taken most other aspects of Obama campaign to include the slogan of change so I want to see him defend it.

Yes, we really need to hear each candidate speak to the issues of the day. We pretty well know where they stand on some issues, but we really need to hear what they will do, or say they will do on this financial mess we find ourselves in at the current time.

Then you will be wasting your time.

    Both will support modified versions.

Both will look the camera in the eye (political training 101) and spin their answers. If you expect a direct yes or no , you are whistling in the wind.

Well we know what Obama is going to do... ignore it and spend his time prepping for the debate.

So what does he do with his first chance to handle a national crisis?

    He punts.

His Illinois reputation for dodging difficult issues was well earned.

I would pick Brian Lamb of C-SPAN. He is as straight down the middle in his interviews as anyone I have ever watched on TV.

He did not. If you really believe that then you have not been keeping up with what he has been doing since the bailout plan came out late last week.

I will be happy when the election is over with. And I don't even care about any so-called debate, because it isn't honest. I wish Obama would have met with John McCain and had Town Hall meetings. Then we could have really gotten to see how quick they think on their feet without scripted answers. But of course, Obama wasn't man enough to meet the challenge....so if McCain doesn't show up for the debate we'll all get to see the empty suit talking to adoring masses. I wonder if there will be styrofoam columns brought in.....

A misrepresentation on your part. There will be a townhall debate in your state in Nashville. Are you going?
