In the three weeks since the Sandy Hook school shooting, Americans have been browbeaten by a plethora of foreigners in the media keen to lecture them on how their constitutional right to keep and bear arms should be eviscerated.

It started with British CNN host Piers Morgan, who seized upon the tragedy within hours to push his fanatical anti-second amendment agenda, calling for a British-style total gun ban. This eventually led to a White House petition calling for Morgan to be deported which went viral and has thus far attracted over 100,000 signatures.

As USA Today highlights, the Morgan controversy served to enflame a global gun control debate with foreign media personalities around the world lecturing Americans on what rights they should be able to exercise.

“In news outlets around the world, editorials, news stories and columns demand American gun control. Our political debates have gone global and American conservatives are outnumbered in a way few even realize. Factor in the impact of worldwide social media and the Internet has given our home-grown liberals an incredible advantage and distorted what should be a uniquely American debate,” wrote Dan Gainor, noting that quasi-state owned media outlets like the BBC and Qatar’s Al-Jazeera were also demanding Americans be stripped of their inherent second amendment rights.

One of the real problems with being a full time CT is that when you come up with a very real and provable threat, nobody pays attention.

    You mean like this?

All governments manipulate the media to garner favorable news coverage and spin the flow of information to put their actions in a positive light. But in a story in Sunday's NY Times (April 20, 2008) entitled "Behind TV Analysts, Pentagon’s Hidden Hand," David Barstow describes a concerted effort by the Bush Administration who used ostensibly objective military analysts to spread propaganda and dupe the American public in a campaign to generate favorable news coverage of the administration’s wartime performance in Iraq. It turns out that those "independent military experts" consisted of “more than 150 military contractors either as lobbyists, senior executives, board members or consultants.” source

I just go where the evidence takes me and let the chips fall where they may.

In the false left vs right paradigm most people here live in today it's not so much about facts and what can be proven but what can be denied, covered up and forgotten.

Agenda and protecting the "team" always comes first. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PLCwOeBQvK4

    Exactly.

The first one easily provable. The 2nd...not so much.

It's been proven that the neocons took us to war on false pretenses Carpro. Whether you accept it or not. But they weren't first to do so and they won't be the last.

Our government has been lying to us for so long now what does it matter who told which lie? What can be proven or what can't? What does it matter now?

Bad as Bush and the neocons were and they were bad. They were just another cobblestone on the road to tyranny. They blazed the trail Obama followed.

Look at where we are now. We have a government that claims the right and the power to kill anyone, anywhere, anytime it sees fit for whatever reason it chooses if it even chooses to give a reason.

And now they want to take away our guns.

You know what happens after that right?

No. No such thing has been proven. Even I strongly suspect that might have been the case, but it hasn't been proven.

Funny how you can't stay on topic...even when it's yours.

Got anything else to say about the UN wanting to disarm Americans?

Where are the armed forces in this battle? Don't they take an oath to defend the Constitution?
