Presidents don't commit impeachable acts unless they are in the "other" party and the "other" party is in the minority.

I thought you knew that.

Actually it was the Senate Republicans led by Goldwater who caused the resignation of Nixon! He would have been impeached by the democrat House. Whether sufficient Republicans in the Senate would have voted for conviction is debatable. They took the best course of action and Nixon made the honorable choice and resigned. In the 1960 election Nixon made a similar choice of honor. There was apparently enough evidence to show the democrats stole the election, Nixon chose not to contest the election for the good of the nation. Has there ever been a democrat politician who made a similar sacrifice for the good of the country?

Even on his worst days there was more honor in Nixon than there ever will be in Obama, or Biden, or Clinton, or ,,, !

Yess. But I will give Johnson credit for one thing. I believe he realized he was not "man enough" to be president and chose not to run again. i could of course be wrong but I have always believed that. It takes a very tough character to be president.

I do not believe that Obama has a tough character I simply believe he is a "mean person, lazy but mean"; sort of the way Nero was pictured in the movie Quo Vadis!!

I do believe that down deep inside, there was more honor in Nixon than all those you mentioned. I am not saying he did not get what he deserved, but he was a man who realized what to do when he had done wrong. Richard Nixon was a peculiar mix of honesty, dishonesty, and paranoia. His heart was in the right place but believe he did not believe in the saying, "its not if you win or lose, its how you play the game." It is really quite a tragic story, because he was brilliant in foreign and domestic policy. The liberal presses hatred of Richard Nixon exceeded that of any other conservative to come on the scene since then. Why, I do not know.

But, in my opinion, Nixon, Clinton, et al, ALL love/loved this country. By his actions and intrusions in our lives, I believe obama hates this country, all we have ever stood for, and is seeking to destroy us.

But it was democrats, the opposition party, that started the process. Republicans got on board only when they had no choice.

And we mustn't get "impeachment" confused with "conviction".

The Senate doesn't have any say unless the House impeaches.
