Ken, you have NOTHING on Hagee that qualifies as "hate speech".

I think that many Catholics would disagree with you, Steaver. Linking someone or an organization to Hitler is clearly hateful speech.

“Most readers will be shocked by the clear record of history linking Adolf Hitler and the Roman Catholic Church in a conspiracy to exterminate the Jews.” - John Hagee, Jerusalem Countdown (revised edition, 2007, p. 114)

If you want to keep dredging up stuff from the 2004 presidential campaign, go ahead.

I was consistent in supporting Congressman Ron Paul when he entered the presidential race and voted for him in the GOP primary in Arkansas.

I have consistently supported Senator Obama since he won the South Carolina Democratic primary.

You can criticize my avatar changing all you want. Sometimes I feel like showing my support for various sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, sometimes my support for a politician such as Senator Obama, sometimes show a picture of Ossum doing dog agility before he retired, and sometimes a picture of my Blueridge guitar that I am attempting to learn how to play now that my shoulder has recovered sufficiently from rotator cuff surgery. :)

I don't know about this, I read somewhere this was leaked to the media by the McCain camp. This might be his way of saying he'd rather run against Hillary but I think he is saying he is going to fight to the bitter end.

Obama defence was he is my pastor not my political advisor yet this guy was on his advisory committee...

I would be more concerned about Obama if someone could show me where this pastor's beliefs has affected legislation Obama has introduced or supported. Otherwise, it is just a convenient excuse for those who dislike democrats to bash a possible candidate.

I find it ironic that many of the same people who bash Obama over his pastor's views had little difficulty in supporting Romney when he was running for the republican nomination. Romney said he would not let his Mormonism affect his presidency and that seemed to suffice many of the republicans here. I guess it is different if a person is a democrat.

And Senator McCain is still tied at the hip to the likes of John Hagee and Rod Parsley.

Excuse me? I am not defending Hagee, but if the catholics would preach the true gospel and not include the loyalty to the church, and forgiveness by a preist, and not becoming a christian by confirmation, instead of repentance to God, and trust in Jesus.......not a preist or church...

Then maybe Hagee would be wrong.....maybe Hagee is wrong about of other things, but from what you just said , he is NOT wrong about the Catholic Church.

So you really believe that the Catholic Church was in league with Hitler to exterminate all of the Jews in the the 1930s - World War II like John Hagee does? Seriously?

Let me ask you a question.

If you were president, and you were faced with a war or giving in, or whatever, and a human choice was hard to make? Wouldnt you consult God?

But, the Bible says that God only hears the prayers of the saved (believers).

HOw in the world can a man like Romney (a morman) get a true response from God?

How in the world can Obama (who says he is saved) get an answer from God if he is racist or hates the country that he is supposed to represent?

I think that Christians would be wise to vote for a man that has a relationship with God. I dont think there is any left in this whole election, but we sure dont need to elect someone that despises God's laws and continues to promote gay rights, abortion, and socialism. We have a Christian responsibility.

Someone said on this board that they dont vote for a candidate because of "social issues" or where they stand on them.

Let me say that I believe that if you vote for a person who increases gay rights, abortion, or socialism, then YOU are responsible to God for your decision. Every time a unborn baby is killed, you share the responsibility....every time that gays are given marriage rights, you are responsible. Every time the government passes more legislation to "protect" you when in fact it gives you less freedom to direct you own life....then you are responsible....because these are the things that the Democrats stand for and want to enact.

Before you respond with GWB replies, let me say that I am not happy with his leadership, but at least he "said" he would stand for christian values even if he didnt.

The Dems are up front about going against God's principles. They unabashedly defend gay rights, abortion and more taxes and government control over your life.

Why do Bible believing christians back people who oppose God at every chance?

I think that a lot of it is the old folk tale that "republicans are for the rich" and "the democrats are for the working man". That is a lie that the dems still use to gain the vote of the gullible people that have christian morals.

I would rather be homeless, and dirt poor, and even die of starvation than to be responsible for my vote that helped a baby killer, homosexual defender, socialist get into office.

Whew! I am tired....someone type for a while.

    AJ

I wasn't aware that McCain was a member of either of these guy's church. So far as I knew, it was a simply political endorsement, not a religious affiliation. And McCain, to my knowledge, is not endorsing them. Do you have some link to this "tie at the hip"?

This time of the year gets crazy. I recall the democrats going crazy over Bush and other GOP hopefuls speaking at Bob Jones. Didn't Trent Lott get into trouble because of what he said good about Strom Thurmond? The bad must rub off only on the GOP type and not the democrats.

No he doesn't, it is just his new way to try and counter the mess with Obama and his pastor.

I am not sure how anyone can see a comparision between a pastor who may have controversial teachings endorsing a candidate and another racist pastor who is a man's pastor for 20 years, mentor and political advisor.

You have a good point. Obama has not introduced or supported anything since he has been in office, so no one will be showing you any of that.

You haven't been here too long. I pleaded with brothers and sisters here to reject Romney because he is a nonbeliever. So this one doesn't fly with this Republican.

If it is true, if it is a matter of fact, then it is not "hate speech".

I believe I have seen documentaries that gave proofs of some Catholic churches giving aid and comfort to Hitler. Didn't the Catholic church use to preach that God hates the Jews and Catholics should as well? I'm not certain but I believe I remember seeing these things brought up in unbias documentaries. I could be wrong.

What source does Hagee give for his assertions? Do you know? Have you researched it out for yourself? Or do you just believe it could not have happened?

So because Hagee is technically right it is ok for him to say what he says from the pulpit. Is this to imply that Rev Wright was wrong about everything he said? Let's say Rev Wright is correct on somethings, like let's say Hillary doesn't know what it's like to be a black man, is it ok for him to say that from the pulpit? Is this the new Gospel?

I guess that leaves McCain out. I am not concerned whether or not a person, as you say, "consults God" when facing a war. I would be concerned whether or not a person does what is necessary to wage said war. I would also like to have a president that knows which country to attack and not use war as an excuse to pad the pockets of certain corporations.

But, the Bible says that God only hears the prayers of the saved (believers).

Again, this is not an issue withe me. In fact, I would rather not depend on a person's subjective ideas as to what God was telling them. To much chance of an error. I want a flesh-and-blood person to make flesh-and-blood decisions.

These issues are personal and I am not concerned whether or not a person's personal views line up with mine or with my interpretation of the Scripture.

    A wise decision!

I disagree! I am responsible for my actions, not the actions of others.

What makes you think that someone else who says they "stand for Christian values" agree with your beliefs?

I think you have the democrats confused with the republicans. It is the republicans who have attacked civil liberties, not he democrats.

Loaded question. I don't back people who "oppose God at every chance." I allow people to have different views than I have. Just because I support same-sex unions doesn't mean I hate marriage.

The word Halliburton and the fleecing of Iraq comes to mind.

Easy to say when it is others who actually are the homeless, dirt poor people. Talk is cheap![/QUOTE]

Is this the only tune you know, attacking KenH. Don't you have a sermon on love or something to prepare?

It's what the conservatives/Republicans do on this board, dragonfly. They consistently veer off of discussing the issues and turn to attacking me instead. I guess that's what one does when he/she doesn't have sound arguments to make.

Not at all, but McCain does not go to hagee's church, so why pick and choose what applies to Obama and McCain? Lots of people endorse MCain that I would oppose......

All I am saying is that you shouldnt bring up a doctrinal point that you know is unscriptural. Hagee is right on the point of the catholics point of view towards the Jews......so why use that as a defense.....I have looked up Hagee and I think he is a nut, he suscribes to "health and wealth" doctrine, so I dont support him, but on this point about Catholics, he was right.

That doesnt mean McCain supports Hagee

    LET ME RESTATE THIS!!!!!!

Obama is a follower and member of Wright's church.....McCain is NOT a member of Hagee's church...this is a HUGE difference. Lots of people endorce candidates and the candidates dont endorse tham back....but in Obama's case, he is a faithful follower of Wrights church and even put Wright on his campaign committee.

    Good grief!!!!
