    Budget chief contradicts Obama on Medicare costs

    WASHINGTON — Congress' chief budget officer is contradicting President Barack Obama's oft-stated claim that seniors wouldn't see their Medicare benefits cut under a health care overhaul.

    The head of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, Douglas Elmendorf, told senators Tuesday that seniors in Medicare's managed care plans would see reduced benefits under a bill in the Finance Committee.

    In the past when it has even been suggested by anyone, president or senate, whever, that medicare might have to be cut, or even messed with theres been a hugh outcry, wheres this outcry now? Why aren't those saem dems complaining now that obama wants to cut medical care for seniors?

    What are "Medicare Advantage plans?" What benefits do they provide? How efficient are they?
