I didn't think of that. I was thinking of voting purely on their record and not knowing who they were. But you are right.

Perhaps we can remove the DNA strand that makes them either liberal or conservative.

To go back to the original question...

Scholars. Say what you will about Obama's experience, policies, or judgment, he's a thoughtful man with an appreciation for academic study.

I will admit this bothers me about an Obama administration. As bad as I believe the Bush administration has been, Obama's might be worse in this regard. But, I'm not sure a McCain administration will be any better.

A liberal court in Ct. decided people didn't really own their property, just some property.

Think about school choice, do parents have the right to educate their own kids ? Liberals tend to say no.

Liberals say an armed populace is a menace, but we should trust them to run our health care, our retirement savings.......

    Remember the left's hero's wail......

    "Imagine no possessions....."

His SCOTUS picks almost are enough to scare me into a Palin/McCain vote.....

Obama has been rightly accused of a being a lot of things. Thoughtful has never been one of them, unless you consider "umm" an indication of thought. Obama may be one of the least thoughtful politicians of modern times. He seems to indicate very little serious or substantive thought about the issues of our day.

Yeah, a real intellectual, who thinks we have 57 states. There are forces and people behind this puppet, who are out to ruin the US. They have found their candidate, and they are going for it.

Come on, I think C4K said it best when this was first mentioned. I believe he pointed out the schedule these guys keep when their out on the trail.

I'd be willing to bet a guy who graduated top of his Harvard law class knows how many states their are.

And he campaigned in all of them? I am amazed at how many people never have a slip of the tongue. I was preaching at one time and said there were 8 billion people in Poland.

And the 57 Islamic states is quite a stretch.

This could have been an excellent thread. The fact that Obama and a possibly Democratic Congress would be appointing judges is a REAL issue of concern and that is what we should be addressing, not his slip of the tongue on the campaign trail.

    Presentation

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization grouping fifty seven States which have decided to pool their resources together, combine their efforts and speak with one voice to safeguard the interests and secure the progress and well-being of their peoples and of all Muslims in the world.

The Organization was established in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on 12 Rajab 1389H (25 September 1969) when the First meeting of the leaders of the Islamic world was held in the wake of the criminal Zionist attempt to burn down the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on 21 August 1969 in the occupied city of Al-Quds. I still question the veracity of that site, what constitutes an "islamic State', and how the numbers are collated, but can we stick to the very real danger of an Obama packed Supreme Court and stay away from the sidetracks?

Obama will put justices on SCOTUS who are liberal. He has said that judicial ability only counts if the persons views on specific issues are agreeable to what he believes, and that if prospective justices don't give their views on specific issues, they won't go on the court. He opposed both Roberts and Alito

McCain would tend to appoint strict constructionists.

What 'scares' me though is that even if conservative judges are nominated it will be very difficult to get them by a Democratic Senate, forcing McCain to compromise.

Of all the issue out there - the SCOTUS thing is one that causes me great concern here :(.

    That is the game.

Well, Major B is going to bed--I am off this week, no little "darlings" to teach, but don't want to make a habit of staying up all night.

We do have a say in it - we have a say in who we elect as President and who we elect as Senators.

If Obama is elected, the damage he will do to the SCOTUS and the lower courts will take years to reverse. In fact, it may never be reversed, since we have become a country that is more concerned about our own well-being than the lives of the unborn or constitutional liberties, such as gun and land rights and religious freedom. If such is what we have become and such is what we will remain, then our country deserves wicked rulers like Obama.

P.S. - Bro. Curtis, I agree with you on most things, but I just think having elections for the SCOTUS would be a bad thing, and the Framers thought so, as well.

Because if Obama is "one of the least thoughtful politicians of modern times" then Bush has the thoughtfulness of a rock. Even Palin is better than that.
