Were congress and the senate not in session at all for the last eight years? Have you forgotten that the dems have controlled these houses for a while now? President Bush has made some mistakes, but he is far from being the one who "caused" this mess.

The president can not even pass gas with out going to congress for their ok, why does congress get a pass on the blame game but not the President.

I love the fact that obama supporters here have already started making excusses as to why he will not keep his promises. That is optimism for you!

Hate to burst your bubble, but these go together like oil and water. If there is going to be universal healthcare, there aren't going to be jobs.

Isn't funny how the senate and house, both enjoying a democratic majority, have lower approval ratings than Bush. Seems YouTube has ignored this little tid bit of information in his propaganda post.

"It's Bush's fault" will be the mantra years down the road. I'm surprised John left that phrase out of Revelation when speaking of the antichrist.

Yup - just like the Republicans have been saying 'its Clinton's fault.'

No, that's not fair. The mess has been caused by both Bush and a Democratic congress, as well as a number of other factors.

Black people won't let us forget that we have a black president. To them everything with which they disagree is prejudice and bigotry. Anything said against Obama will be called just that. If he was white, black people wouldn't care what we said against him. I didn't vote for him, not because he is black but because he is for what I'm against--abortion and homosexual rights. This country apparently doesn't care about morality, which is why they keep electing democrat presidents who have no morals.

    We already have health care.

We already have jobs. There are companies in certain places looking to hire people, but the people won't move there. Unemployment is still low by historic standards. Furthermore, jobs created by government are jobs whose wages you will pay. The way government creates good jobs is by getting out of the way.

Not the government's job to do. All the industry jobs have not gone overseas. Essentially only the jobs that were priced out of the market went overseas.

Nuclear energy is the safest, cleanest energy available. There is development happening in these areas. But again, it's not the government's job to do this.

You have a poor idea of civics, economics, and personal responsibility.

But it is not conservatives who keep bringing this up.

It was re-iterated every 5 minutes this morning on NBC, ABC, CBS, etc.

Our outgoing president has left the country in perhaps the worst shape since another republican, Herbert Hoover, left office. This is a daunting task for the country even if we can somehow come together.

His skin colour will 'pale' (pardon the play on words) when he does not fix things quickly. Then he will just be another Washington politician.

Its like, I think, the US Ambassador to Ireland said on the radio today - 'The wind which has been blowing at Obama's back for the last two years will be blowing in his face on January 20th.'

Not the case. The situation is dire and I believe it will get worse before it gets better as a result of the failed bush policies.

Just realistic about how terrible your President was.

Which he inherited from the failed Clinton policies? Pass the buck can go both ways.

Neither party if going to fix this. It keeps then in power. The Republicrats just continue to rule with impunity.

"Also, keep in mind a key issue: criticism of Obama will be met with the race card response from Obama's die-hard supporters (who will now be in positions of power)."

Naaaahhh just remind them that he is also white, just because he rejects it does not change it and besides I thought this was a color blind society  and that we had set our race problem aside because he was elected. Which way is it?

This is not what Obama is proposing. He wants to give us the option of joining the same medical program congress uses. This means you will have choices of providers and can see the doctor of your choosing. This will not lead to the socialist program you're describing. People with health care via their jobs or what have you will still have the options of keeping those plans.

I honestly would like him to assign health care to Hillary. I think she can take a combination of McCain's, Obama and her plan and create something truly good for the nation. Hillary's plan would cover more American's at less cost to the tax payers than anyone who ran this year. This was per fact check.

I agree, I wish they'd put me on those shows. I'd tell um.

As a black president it means he is only a president for the black people.

A president who happens to be black means he's every one president no matter what race or background you come from.

Believe it or not, it was Al Sharpton I head make this point.
